April 5, 2002

When I woke up this morning, I had TapRoot's song "I," which is a pretty awful name for a song if you ask me, stuck in my head.  I was quite pleased by this; it meant that my efforts from the day before had paid off swimmingly.  I had received the album, The Gift, as part of my Easter present from my parents, and I was determined to become familiar with the songs as quickly as possible.  I'm one of those kind of people that likes to listen to music that I know the words to, that I can get properly stuck in my head.  I'm kind of put off by music I don't know well.  Recently, I got five CDs at a music store's going out of business sale, and it was a total disaster.  All that unknown music is overwhelming, so as a result, here I am three months later, and I barely know even one of the CDs.  I kind of have that feeling that if I listen to one album, I'll have to listen to them all, and that's a momentous task.

Well, I went a little off subject there.  I just meant to give you an over-view of my "morning" (really it was just after noon, so not technically morning after all), so I could explain what I'm doing now.  Well, if you're reading this, you know I have a website.  I have several sections, but I don't really have a reason to update the main site much.  So I was contemplating an easy way to fix this problem as I stumbled off to the communal dorm bathrooms, in my sleep clothes and my vans with no socks, because that stupid bitch that lives in the room next to mine tripped or something last night, and broke a ceramic bowl, and didn't sweep up the little bastard shards so, it's not safe to walk out in the hallway bare-foot, and one of my slippers was under the bed and I didn't feel like getting it.  Wow, run-on sentence much? Anyway, I came up with a solution: an on-site diary.  I mean, I have a "site diary" on the Senshi 3018 part of my page, so why not a straight diary on the main page?  Works for me.  I can ramble with the best of them, so can easily pull this shit off.

So then I had to think about how to execute this plan.  You may have noticed that my site is on geocities, and I'm the sort that uses pagebuilder.  So should I just type my entries straight into pagebuilder?  Or should I use frontpage?  Hmm... ever so conflicting.  But then I my natural distrust of website servers to not randomly delete your page (it happened to me once, and once is enough) kicked in, and so straight pagebuilder was eliminated.  But then I realized that I may want to incorporate pictures into my entries, which I don't really know how to do well in frontpage, so it was out... So I still didn't know what to do.  So I decided on a compromise, type in word and paste into page builder.   You guys are probably pretty lucky I did this, because I spell atrociously (and unbelievably, I spelled "atrociously" correctly the first time, just to contradict myself... *grumble.*)

So, all that's left in implementing my diary idea is naming my diary.  I won't write in an unnamed diary.  Now, normally, I name my diaries after a secretish crush of mine, but seeing as this could be read by anyone, I don't think it'd stay very secretish if I did that, huh?  So I guess this time I'll be naming this diary after some dead sexy bitch famous guy that I like.  *looks around room at pictures on the wall*  I know, I've got it...
I'll name you Elijah, after Elijah Wood, who I've liked (as an actor) since the Good Son, and who wore the coolest shirts in Flipper, even though nobody seems to remember that movie... (Dude! It had Paul Hogan, how can you forget it!?!)  But anyway, he also kicked ass as Frodo, so he deserves props, and he's got a good name.  So it's all settled.
Awwww..... Isn't he pretty?
Okay, before I get anymore intelligible better sign off,

Des
