| Vampires: Those who seek Blood There are three kinds of Vampires in the Four Kingdoms, the Light, the Dark, and the True, less formally known as respectively, the Angels, the Demons, and the Hellions. Really though they can be boiled down into two categories: the undead and the living. The people whose bodies are now the undead have indeed died, and their souls when to the next world. Their bodies are now possessed by either a demon or an angel. These two kinds are both hurt by sunlight (direct sunlight can kill them), and a (neutral) wooden steak through the heart (but only directly through the heart) will always kill them. Darks are also hurt by anything holy. The living vampires have none of weaknesses of the undead. The only hope for killing them is to dismember them so badly that they can no longer function. They are more like super-humans than the undead. All three kinds need blood to sustain them, and they will die without it. Also the three kinds do NOT coexist well, each kind has several sovereign nations, but there is a counsel of fifteen representatives from these nations. They have a King, Marcus Darsen who nearly two and a half thousand years old. He is respected by all vampire due his age and an unexplainable charm. Even so, great number of vampires are Rouges, never answering to any Government. A Dark assassin, Kiomi, murdered a prominent member of the Hijah Republic a few decades ago, causing the republic to declare war on his clan, one of fifteen Demon clans. Most Dark Vampires owe allegiance to some clan, but there are quite Rouges. Light Vampires, however are mostly Rouges, due to the fact that most are tormented by the fact that they are stuck in the living world. There are only two Angel clans, the Neiv and the Rudena. The Neiv are part of the Temple, their leader Counselor Hollen is indeed one of the founders of the religious sect. The other, the Rudena, is part of the Hijah Republic. True Vampires, due to the fact that anyone may become one, are more scattered. About two dozen Vampire cults of Hellions exist, there are five major Clans that command most of this kind's power. They are the Livamex, the Darkwood Order, the Mundakin, the Ciane, and the Negro Cielo, the Black Sky. The Mundakin are part of the Hijah, but the rest are independent of other powers, except the Vampire Counsel. The Ciane is fairly new, and their quick rise to notoriety is attributed to John the Headless, a relatively young Vampire that is rumored to have survived decapitation. Witches: Those who seek Beauty The Witches are not what you would think from hearing their name. They are very focused on beauty, art, and truth. In the cities of Upper Lilunmel, all races gather to see the witches beautiful and brilliant ceremonies and rituals. Although most Witches would prefer to not be associated with the questionable Pixie Kingdom, they would rather let others perform the dull activities of business, manufacturing, and other essential industries. So, of the six prefectures of Witches, four are directly governed by the Pixie Kingdom, and one is heavily populated by Pixies, Humans, Knomes, Enchanters, and or whoever else wanted work and doesn't want to live with there own kind. The last prefecture, Linse, is small, but one of the highest tourist places of anywhere in all of Lilunmel. Linse is completely self-sufficient, everything that is needed in life is provided by different families of witches who study the different facets of life, nature, and medicinal magic. Calla of the Green, the matron of all the families, is over three hundred years old and is called Grandmother. Her several times great granddaughter Tabitha married the current King, Arizona Besun, only adding to her fame and the number of pilgrims who seeked her time. |
