Authors Note: The usual disclaimers; I don't own the Ronin warriors! Okay, now my own notes. Single quotes are when the character is thinking. Regular quotes is when the character is speaking. This story comes after Dragon Flames, so don't read if you want a few spoilers. Not many, I promise. This fic is the scary reminder what happens when your in Biology class with a pen, a piece of paper, and nothing to do. (Not to mention to much sugar at 7:00 in the morning, cause that is when my Biology class starts.) Now on without with the fic.
Out of Character
By: (the one and only) Malaca
Sai looked up at the dark blue sky from the balcony's ledge. So many stars and he could see them all from Mia's house far outside the city limits. Dusk was settling in, coating Sai in a layer of dew. Sai contentedly sighed as the cool drops of condensation settled on his skin.
"Now that's Neptune, so that must be the North Star. Wow, Rowen's right. These stars are so beautiful, almost as beautiful as the ocean. In the sea of the sky. That was Rowen's part, wasn't it?"
Sai's eyes drifted downwards as he frowned in frustration, "No matter how many times we fight, or how many times we seem to win, a new evil always appears. Sure we beat Talpa the first time, but what about now? With Malaca gone to find out about that evil in America, and after that she is going to go searching for the remaining Mystics, we're left here alone. I feel as thought I can't even trust my friends to help pull us through this!"
Sai's kanji flared up blue before quickly turning another color. Sai didn't notice his kanji at all; he was to busy watching a shooting star. Sai's eyes widened as he realized the star was heading towards him.
"Ahh-Eghf!" Sai yelled as the blinding light struck him.
"Huh?" Sai blinked in surprise as he looked out suddenly at the stars.
"How did I get here?" he questioned to himself.
"The last thing I remember is that light, then I was here. What's going on?"
"Sai?!" Kento bellowed from indoors.
Sai rolled his eyes, "Kento can't do anything by himself sometimes!"
"I'm coming!" Sai yelled back shifting his weight towards the glass door.
He took one last look at the stars before turning into the interior of the house. Mumbling to himself, he walked into the downstairs living room and looked around. Sai's mouth dropped low, almost to the ground. He stuttered trying to get a grip on the situation, for there in the middle of the room stood himself!
"WHAT THE HECK!" Sai hollered.
"Hey buddy," Kento's voice said coming from Sai's mirror image.
"Kento, YOU LOOK LIKE ME!"
Kento (Sai) shrugged his shoulders.
"WHAT'S GOING ON!" Sai yelled losing his temper, "WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE ME?"
"That's not all," Kento said meekly.
"WHAT NOW!" Sai said sarcastically.
Kento (Sai) pulled a mirror from behind his back and showed Sai his reflection. Sai looked into the mirror to see Kento's face looking back.
"NO!" Sai screamed feeling his face, "I'M NOT KENTO!"
"Seesh, calm down," Kento answered placidly.
Sai lowered his voice, "What's wrong with you? Why are you so calm?"
Kento shrugged, "I don't know. I guess I feel at ease in your body."
Sai stood dumbfounded as he realized Kento spoke with his own voice and not Sai's. Sighing with some relief, Sai (Kento) walked over to one of Mia's couches rubbing his (or Kento's?) temples in attempt to figure out exactly was going on. Sai tried his hardest, but he couldn't think clearly, on account that his stomach was growling.
"What's going on! I can't think over this stupid-"
*Growl*
"What was that?" Kento questioned sitting next to Sai (Kento).
"My, I mean, your stomach," Sai answered impatiently.
"Wow, has it always been that loud?"
"YES, IT HAS, NOW SHUT UP SO I CAN THINK WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO!"
Kento raised his (Sai's) eyebrows. Sai grabbed his (Kento's) head and held it between his (Kento's) knees.
"What's wrong with Sai? I've never seen him like this. He's always so trusting and forgiving. Even worse, what is wrong with me? For once I can understand what's going on!"
Kento raised his (Sai's) eyebrows again as a lightbulb appeared over his (Sai's) head.
"Wait a minute, this is all beginning to make sense. The last thing I remember is that I should be more like Sai and trust everyone more. Then that light came and here I am in Sai's body. Hmm-, maybe we-"
Kento was interrupted by a low wailing sound. He turned to his friend in surprise. Sai held his (Kento's) head as he looked forward in dismay. Jumping to his feet, Sai began to beat the crap out of the wall. Kento rushed over to his friend, pulling him away. Sai spun around and looked at his mirror image.
"What's going on Kento?"
"I think we changed bodies, and maybe even personalities."
Sai's (Kento's) face contorted as though he was thinking. He got this "I'm an idiot look" on his face.
"Huh?" Sai finally said, scratching his (Kento's) chin.
Kento, thoroughly upset, answered, "We switched bodies and PERSONALITIES!"
Sai scratched again, "Oh?"
"Can't we just switch them back?" Sai questioned with a look of plea.
Kento thought, "Do I really want to become that again?"
"I don't know," answered Kento.
"Why not?" Sai questioned thoroughly confused.
"I-I don't want to," Kento answered turning away from his friend.
Sai's mouth dropped open, "How can he do this?"
"I'm sorry, Sai, I can't become him again."
Sai huffed in defeat turning away from Kento, "I guess Kento that I'll have to stay like this until your ready. Your my friend Kento. Even though your being an ass right now, I trust you with my life. I trust you to make the right decision."
"HOW THE HELL CAN YOU TRUST ME AFTER WHAT I JUST DID?" Kento yelled feeling his anger roll up.
Kento's words were bounced back off a turned back.
"Well?"
Sai turned his (Kento's) eyes ablaze.
"I trust you even though I'M SO FREAKEN ANGRY I WANT TO HIT YOU!"
Kento's eyes widened and he rushed at Sai. Sai rushed back to Kento. They both peeled back their fists, but before they could strike a bright light crashed into them again.
"Uhh-, what happened?" Sai questioned as he opened his eyes to look into Sage's, Rowen's, and yep even Kento's faces. Sai smiled.
"Is everything back to normal?" he asked.
His friend's faces were grim in answer. Sai's eyes widened.
"What is it? Is everything back to normal?"
"Not exactly," Ryo's voice answered.
A head popped into the mass of friends, his head. Sai's eyes widened as he looked down at himself to see Ryo's body. Sai groaned as he fell back to the ground.
"Not again!" he muttered as he covered his eyes.
The End, for now.........
Hey All, Malaca here-
