Demon Lord
by: Malaca
Chapter 6
The Demon Lord shifted his massive shadowy form so that he appeared more threatening to his knights that were lined up in front of him. He smirked knowing full well that they couldn't see past the shadow's that he had gathered around his figure. He was known as Destione, the strongest of the Lord's that ruled over the demon-folk. The Lord's that had come into to power and had not been born into lordship. He snarled at this. He should have been the ruler of hell not the Devil who was only the ruler because he was the first. The devil was weak compared to Destione.
His shadow knights sensed his fool mood and shifted uncomfortably in their ranks. Destione's voice bellowed out over them causing a few to cower.
"How goes our conquest?"
Dracon, his chosen stepped forward and bowed slightly to his lord, "It goes well my lord. The slayer is being prepared for you to have. Her power is what you said it is. You my lord will gain much from her."
Destione rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "Yes, but we must wait until the fullest hour of the moon to do the spell."
Dracon nodded and bowed back to the line. Arcan moved forward in his place.
"My lord the slayer's friends are in the forest looking for her and for us. What should we do?"
Destione snorted, "Nothing."
Arcan was flustered, "But shouldn't we dispose of them before they gain allies and attack us?"
"Dare to challenge me, Arcan?" he snapped.
"No, no my lord it's just.."
"GET BACK IN LINE, WORM!"
Arcan cowered back in line his head low. Malek snorted at his fellow knight's tactics. He stepped forward and Scar moved along side of him.
"My lord, what my fellow Knight was trying to inform you is that we have reason to believe that the Dragon Counsel has caught on to our plans," Malek stated boldly.
Destione cocked his head slightly. Dragons were dangerous, especially the higher ranked, but why do they worry themselves over mortal affairs and demon tales? They hadn't before.
"How can you be certain?"
Scar spoke up; "The power in the air is too ancient and fiery to be anything else. It is a Dragon for sure, and something else, but we aren't certain yet."
"The problem is my lord, is that these forces are now with the slayer's friends," Malek added.
Destione fumed. They dare plot against him, the highest lord? He would show them.
"Malek, Scar, you have my permission to dispose of them."
Scar and Malek both bowed down low pleased to serve their master, especially when the command was too fight. Both teleported out of the room to plan their attack.
Destione looked down at Arcan, "Arcan you will leave us now."
"Yes my lord," Arcan stuttered still off balance as he also teleported out of the command room.
"My lord, what do you want with me?" asked Dracon.
"Dracon I wish for you too keep an eye on the Dragon. He might prove to be too much of a challenge for Scar and Malek."
Dracon nodded, "Yes, my lord. Your wish is my command."
Destione waved his hand in dismissal, chuckling low to himself as he watched Dracon leave. How amusing that Dracon still does not remember who he was before being captured and brainwashed. The defender was now a destroyer. Hope no longer are you Keller of the Centaur.
Destione's evil laughter filled the command room chilling the hearts in his secret castle. Deep in the dungeons the Slayer glanced upwards in hatred.
"This guy is going down," she growled.
Malaca yawned and stretched herself upward with her hands interlocking over her head. Currently the Ronins were following the Slayerettes trying to figure out what was going on exactly. Ryo had a hint that Malaca knew, but she wasn't telling them anything.
"I still don't understand, how can a demon have a soul?" Rowen fumed throwing his hands up in the air.
Malaca cocked and eyebrow and Angel gave him a glare.
"Technically he's not a full demon. He was killed by another vampire and a demon came to inhabit his body. This makes the person immortal that can't be killed by old age. The person's soul is basically ruined and replaced with a demon, but a soul can be replaced that suppresses the demon's urges, got it?" Malaca asked.
Rowen sighed, "But how would you get a soul if yours is gone, and if the soul they replaced wasn't originally yours would you still be the same person?"
Malaca shrugged, "I don't know, nor do I wanna know right now. My concern is the Demon Lord thank you."
"Are you saying that you are after the Demon Lord as well?" Giles stopped to face her.
"Yeah, why?"
Giles pushed up his glasses in a way that Malaca found very annoying, "Well, if he was able to take the Slayer then why do you think you'll be any different."
Malaca gave him a wicked grin, "I don't know, why don't you tell me watcher?"
Sage froze along with Malaca. He glanced towards her and she shrugged.
"Well isn't this just peachy? All of the slayer's friends just laid out for the pickings?"
A dark shadow emerged from the woods throwing back his cloak causing Cordeila to gasp at his scarred face. Scar sneered at her.
"What's wrong never seen a damaged face before? You won't after meeting me, my name is Scar one of the Demon Lord's own knights."
"And I'm Malek, another knight of his Lord Destione," said another shadow as it followed Scar out of the woods.
Malek waved his hand and with his wave hordes of vampires emerge from he woods. Rowen stepped up to fight, but Xander glanced back with a grimace.
"Leave this to the professionals, 'ka?"
Kento laughed, "Professionals? You've got to be kidding me, we have the "
Sage slapped a hand over his mouth, "Sounds good."
Malaca gave them a quick smile; "Good luck!"
"your going to need it," muttered Kento under his breath after Sage released his mouth.
Giles nodded and drew out a stake. Xander did the same while the other three pulled out loaded crossbows. Oz aimed and shot one right through the chest causing the vampire to explode to dust. Angel grimaced slightly and hacked at the vampires that were coming towards them. Giles and Xander did like Angel and staked any of the vampires that came to close.
Sai shook his head~There not going to be able to do this by themselves.~
~Yeah why did you hold me off about telling that we have a Demon Hunter on our side?~asked Kento.
~Think about it Kento, she's supposed to be her in secret, we can't just blow who she is or who we are right in front of them~hissed Rowen.
~Kento does has a point though, they won't last very much longer and then we have to step in~pointed out Sage.
~It's okay, I was kind of hoping for a battle.~smirked Malaca.
Ryo rolled his eyes~You shouldn't be so hasty!~
Malaca gave him the look~Hon, look who your talking to here. I love to fight, it's in my blood.~
Ryo sighed~Just give us the word!~
~Knew you would see it my way!~
"THERE'S TOO MANY OF THEM!" cried Willow as she batted away another vampire with her crossbow that had no more bolts to be loaded in it. Angel was silent sweeping away as many as he could. It didn't help each one that was destroyed or held off three more took its place.
Malek studied the battle. So far the Dragon hadn't appeared in the skirmish as planned. This puzzled him, why wouldn't the Dragon just destroy them all while it had the chance. Malek glanced at Scar. Scar seemed to be gleefully watching the Slayer's friends fall to their superior numbers. Malek scowled, the poor fool didn't really comprehend the full power of the Dragon counsel. They were remarkably powerful and destroyed demons without a second thought. They just had to figure out which one was the Dragon and then destroy him.
Malaca watched the battle intently. It was almost time to step in and revel themselves. Secretly she was impressed at how long the slayer's friends had held off their vampire foes. They were stronger than they seemed.
She glanced over at her friends~Time to get rocking.~
Xander grimaced at the vampire he just staked. It didn't vaporize it though for his aim was off. He struggled to remove the stake and the vampire wasn't helping any. He was actually holding the stake in.
"Xander look out!" called Willow.
Xander wheeled around stake forgotten to be face to face with a demonic arm coming straight for him. Another hand grasped it before it got a chance to strike him down. Xander looked at who saved him in surprise. Kento winked and tossed the vampire over his shoulder effortlessly.
Xander blinked, "Wha "
Kento turned towards him wagging his finger, "Remember, 'leave it to the professionals!'"
Malaca screamed a war-chant and effortlessly did a front tuck over Xander and Kento, much to the awe of the Slayerrettes, to land a crushing blow on the head of a vampire. The vampire was crushed to the ground with Malaca crouched on top. She whipped around smoothly to snap the arm of a vampire close behind her only to follow up with a roundhouse kick to another right behind him. A foolish vampire with a long scar running down his face charged her and received a powerful front kick in the head that caved in his face instantly destroying the vampire.
She snarled at the demons that dared to oppose her. Malaca was a pure marvel in battle. Quick in response, deadly to a fault as she used every limb, object, or weapon around her in the most lethal of ways.
Malaca pulled out her two sai's from their crossed sheaths on her back. She whipped them around so fast that they looked like to silver blurs working together. She spun around twice and whipped her blades along with her severing body parts with each motion. The dust beneath the blades was picked up in tiny swirls. She paused looking straight ahead with no motion in either her body or her blades. Malaca waited a brief second and then stood up from her crouch. The vampires around her in a five-foot radius were still as well. She watched with slight amusement as they sudden fell apart and became dust before their severed bodies hit the ground.
She whipped around once more and gave the next group a fierce grin before starting again with the twin wheels.
The other Ronins were doing almost as well.
Ryo kicked a young vampire in the head and sent it reeling into its comrades. He shook his head at them, who would have figured that he would be fighting vampires and other demons when he was born. Ryo shrugged not minding that he had to fight. The only thing that bothered him was that there was no honor in this battle for their enemies were already dead.
Rowen glanced up at an extremely large vampire. He towered over Rowen close to seven feet in height. He dodged backwards and weaved underneath the giant's legs in a front roll. Rowen rolled back to his feet with a smirk before performing his trademark kick to the vampire's head. Rowen whipped around and grabbed a small knife from his jacked and rammed it home. The vampire shrieked in fury before exploding.
Sai and Kento were doubled teamed and surrounded by vampires. Kento held out his interlocked hands and flung Sai into the air. Sai landed on a few of the vamps with a thud. Giving Kento a dazed smile he continued to ram the unfortunate head of a vampire that had been caught directly underneath him, to the ground.
Kento shook his head and did his own version of it by grabbing two vampires and slamming their heads together. Another jumped at him, and Kento was all too happy to haul him up and throw him across the battleground. Giles stopped to watch the six of them fight the vampires. How did they learn to fight in this way? The one called Ryo seemed to be their leader in a sense, but Malaca worked alone hacking through the demons as if they were grass. The only one with a weapon was Malaca and the rest didn't even have any weapons. Could it be that they were the ones the poem spoke about?
Giles walked up to Angel who had too stopped fighting and was watching the six fight in unison.
"What do you make of it?" he asked.
Angel shook his head, "Incredible."
"You can say that again, what is wrong with this picture?" Xander asked feeling his shoulder.
"Nothing if they win," added Oz.
"Well I still think their weird," Cordeila mentioned with a toss of her hair.
"Well I think it's neat," Willow said softly, "I mean look at them, it's so cool how they work together almost like they've you know, done it before."
"That's it," Angel turned towards Giles.
"That's what?"
"That girl, I know where I've seen her before," he said excitedly as he turned back to watch Malaca.
"And?" Cordeila asked impatiently.
"That's the girl that fought those vampires when I was watching," he answered not turning towards her.
"Wait a minute," Cordeila answered holding up her hand, "are you saying that Malaca is that girl that you thought you saw? I mean she's a total wreck."
Giles had a calculating look in his eyes, "And she is from Japan."
Angel turned towards Giles, "Are you thinking..."
"Yes."
"Hello?" Xander waved, "I want to know what you're thinking."
"Oh yes," Giles said absentmindedly still looking at Angel, "the original poem that we were looking at was in a old form of Japanese."
"Are we still talking about that same stupid poem? Come on guys it's a poem nothing more," Cordeila sighed.
"Let's show them what they should be talking about," snarled Scar pointing towards the Slayer's friends. Malek nodded his consent.
Scar smiled once and flew over the battle to attack the slayer's friends who were preoccupied in their discussion. Malaca saw this over the battle and snarled jumping to intercede him. Scar humped and just missed the watcher by an inch as another blur slammed into his body throwing him to the ground. Giles jerked in surprise.
Scar growled and shoved himself up from the ground to glare into a pair of furious hazel eyes.
"You bastard, going when there is nobody looking. I spit on your ancestors."
Scar smiled, "So do I."
Malaca crouched into a battle stance, "You fucking asshole."
"Why thank you," his eyes narrowed, "I'm not after you human, out of my way."
Malaca smirked, "No."
Scar dashed forward to hit her down. Malaca simply stepped to the left and kneeled down so that she could throw him over her shoulder and kneed him the sensitive spot as soon as he landed. Scar's eyes bulged and Malaca smirked even wider in his face.
"Now, you get one chance to go before I single handily, RIP OUT YOUR FUCKING TESTICALS!"
Scar blanched.
"MALEK, SCAR RETURN TO ME!"
Malaca winced at how loud the voice was. Scar smirked back at her and disappeared in a teleport. Malek did the same. The vampires snapped their teeth before disappearing into the forest.
Malaca huffed in frustration, slamming her fist into the ground.
"Well," Sage came up brushing dust off his clothes, "That was fun."
"Yeah, we totally dusted them," cheered Kento.
"Quite literally too, mate," Sai smiled.
Ryo leaned down next to Malaca, "Are you alright?"
She stood up and huffed, "Yeah, but I had him. Just a little bit longer and I could have found out where the Demon Lord is hold up at."
"That was impressive," Angel commented.
Giles stood next to him, "Yes it was."
"Don't look at me guys, I ain't explaining it," coursed Malaca hands raised.
"I agree with Mal, thanks. I ain't saying anything either," Rowen smiled.
A shadow watched them from the sidelines grinning slightly, "Lets see how they handle this."
The shadow clenched his hand and formed a nice sized fireball and then released it with a smirk. Malaca's eyes widened at the feel of the power that was released. She pushed Ryo to the side with a jerk, along with Cordeila and Giles.
"Hey!" Cordeila cried looking up at Malaca.
Malaca ignored her as the fireball approached at a fast pace. She took the full force of it with a small grunt and flew a short distance away. The fireball exploded leaving dust and smoke swirling around the impact site.
"Oh my God!" Cordeila squealed.
Kento dropped his jaw, "Whoa."
A throaty chuckle was heard behind them as Dracon stepped out of the shadows. Ryo snarled as he got a good look at the man who stroke Malaca down. Black hair was cut right above the eyes glistened with the moonlight. His skin was pale with no blemishes; his eyes were a dark shade of blue. His stance was bold as if he wasn't threatened.
"That was amusing," he chuckled, "I would have never thought that would have happened."
He shrugged, "Goes to show you that humans are unpredictable creatures that should die."
Rowen snapped at him with his temper, "Who the hell do you think you are throwing fireballs and shit around at our friends, you're a freaken asshole you know that?"
Dracon cocked an eyebrow, "Oh? Well my name is Dracon leader of Lord Destione's knights and next to control his power."
"Yeah and I'm Cindy Crawford," Rowen drawled.
Dracon looked at him with a smile and answered sarcastically, "I thought you had bigger boobs Cindy."
Rowen scowled with anger and was held back by Sage. Sage gave his friend the "look" and Rowen backed down reluctantly.
Dracon chuckled, "Well since nobody wants to fight be, I think I should get on with killing you all."
Ryo growled and prepared to armor up, but was stopped by a voice.
"REBOUND!" it cried.
A fireball that looked exactly like the one Dracon formed soared out of the impact site and slammed into Dracon shoving him into the ground to form an identical crater. Dracon grunted and shoved his weight out of the hole.
His eyes were sparkling with fire, "Who dares?"
Malaca stepped out of the smoke of her own hole her eyes sparkling with amusement. Cordeila gasped in surprise and Giles blinked along with the rest of the Slayerettes.
"Ya' know you could have done better with that little fireball," she stated rotating her shoulder, "it barely even stung."
Dracon smiled grimily, "But it did its job. We now know who the Dragon in this lot is, you!"
Malaca cocked an eyebrow, "No you don't. Anybody with any drop of fire elemental in them could have stopped that stupid excuse of a fireball."
Dracon fumed, "Oh but I think I did find out who the Dragon is."
He dashed forward at her and Malaca ducked under his swing reflexedly. She wasn't prepared for his other hand to throw a blindingly bright white dust into her eyes. She screamed in pain and backed off rubbing them in an attempt to clear them.
Ryo cried out and darted forward. Rowen ran and grabbed him from behind, tackling him to the ground.
"You'll just get in the way, she can handle herself, Ryo." He whispered urgently.
Dracon straightened up with a smirk, "Well lets see what you got now, especially when you can't see me."
Malaca pulled her head up blindly, "You little bastard, using flash dust to blind me."
She pulled back into a stance and smirked, "Well you ain't going to win this fight you arrogant little shit.'
Dracon surged forward and caught her off guard burying his fist into her stomach. She grunted and rolled away from him hoping to catch him with her feet. Dracon moved away easily chuckling to himself. Malaca twirled around as soon as she got up with a kick powerful enough to take off his head. He dodged underneath her and grasped her leg. Malaca snarled in fury as she tried to get free. He chuckled again.
"Oh Dragon, Dragon, what will you do now?" he razzed her. She smirked and back-flipped catching Dracon with her free left foot making him release her trapped right foot. She backstepped once and drew out her sai's.
"You want to see what I've got, knight?" she snapped with anger, "this is what I got. I'll show you a little something Lady Kayura taught me."
Malaca joined the sai's over her head and twirled them until they were a spinning wheel. She released the wheel and lowered her hands to her side before jumping into the air to reclaim the spinning wheel. Malaca frowned as she shifted her aura so that she may permanently feel Dracon while he was around.
Dracon's jaw dropped low when he felt her lock on to his aura.
Malaca spun the wheel to her side and then straight at Dracon stopping it with a jerk. Screaming white lines roared out of the connected sai's. They shifted to darting white medorites slamming into Dracon. Dracon was overwhelmed as he defended the attack with a force field. The field was ripped apart and slashed back at the one who created it. Malaca ended the attack with a smirk and went about to searching for what remained of Dracon's aura.
Dracon pulled himself out of another hole he created with a grimace. He had underestimated the Dragon, and was paying for it. He barreled forward hitting Malaca. Malaca grunted and kept to her feet, but made deep trenches where she was dragged.
Dracon moved backwards and drew his three-sectioned staff off his back. "DEATH STRIKE," he whispered his attack throwing at the Ronin instead of Malaca. The Ronin moved in front of the others to take the attack for them. Malaca cursed under her breath, darting forward to be in front of the Ronins.
She crossed her arms in front of her arms fisted, "SHIELDS!"
A white dome formed over them protecting them from his attack. The grass that was brushed with his Death Strike wilted and turned brown. Malaca threw down her shields and took a stance once more throwing her senses around once more.
Dracon jumped forward.
"DRACON RETURN, NOW!"
Dracon blinked and stopped in mid-flight. He gave her a smirk, but Malaca didn't receive it without her eyesight. He teleported away swiftly.
Malaca panted heavily and collapsed backwards comically.
"You okay?" asked Ryo.
"No not really. That sucker was good. I haven't had a good fight like that since " Malaca stopped thinking, "we'll since the demons raid in Miami."
Sai blinked and laughed, "It would figure if you would enjoy that."
"Would somebody kindly tell be what just happened?" fumed Cordeila.
"In a few, where can we go that is private and not in the open?" asked Ryo.
"The library," toned Giles.
Ryo nodded and turned to the panting and blinded Malaca, "Do you have the coordinates?"
She snorted, "Give me a break, of course."
"Give them to me."
Malaca rolled her eyes and sent them through their mind link. Ryo nodded in understanding.
"We'll do it this time, you rest."
She sighed, "Don't forget the cars, I gave you their coordinates as well."
"Alright guys lets do it!" called Ryo.
The rest of the Ronin nodded, and teleported away with a flash of light.
Kento mumbled underneath his breath, "I hate teleporting."
