Demon Lord

Chapter 3

By: Malaca

Malaca smirked broadly in the direction of the vampires. The shared her smirk.

"Why, boys, all of you are coming to fight little' ol' me?" she asked innocently.

The vampires echoed the sound of chuckling. Their eyes alight in anticipation.

"Well," she said smiling, "you should have brought reinforcements."

They looked at her confused, but quickly changed their looks to ones of malicious anger. They charged, headlong towards Malaca. Malaca had just enough time to realize that they weren't attacking as a unit, yet as separate beasts. Cardon dodged out of the way, carrying his mistress away from the danger. Malaca pulled back, commanding him to return. He did with reluctance. Cardon circled the Vampires and Malaca eyed them as they charged. Cardon darted out of the way of another attack. Malaca smirked at the demons. She jumped from the saddle and faced the first assault.

A cocky vampire that could not be much older than fifteen when he was changed, plunged headlong at Malaca. She intercepted him and threw him back in to three other vampires. They sprawled back through couple of trees. She flung one of her knives in their direction, letting the mystical blade find its targets. Several more demons charged her. Malaca flipped them one by one over her shoulder.

"I tire of this game, so lets make it a little more interesting!" Malaca yelled.

Cardon and Revenge stopped their pillaging and ducked low to the ground. Malaca slowly gathered her ki. She let it form over her left hand like fire. The blue flames shot forward in the direction that she pointed. It consumed the remaining demons, burning the remains of their souls. When the fire dissolved, all that was left of the vampires were ashes and the metal trinkets they had worn on their shoes and necks. Even the buckles were melted beyond comprehension of what they had previously been. Malaca sighed and mounted a nervous Cardon. Revenge smirked at the fallen ashes.

~Is it always this much fun?~ he asked her.

Malaca shrugged in answer. She let her mental barriers fall again and concentrated on any other forms around her that might have escaped her blast. Nothing, but wait their was movement in the corner of her eye. It had a faint evil taint that was now covered with that of the good. Malaca examined it for a brief second, before letting it go. It was good after all. Revenge growled low in his throat. Malaca hushed him with a look. Cardon turned and headed towards home, thoroughly done with the nights work. Malaca sighed and let him go.

Meanwhile, Angel watched from the bushes. He grimaced. The figure had noticed he was there, but had made no move against him. How unusual. He walked off silently in the direction of the library.

'Buffy will want to know about this!'

Three Vampires later...

A dark shadow frightened Xander from his pondering. Buffy clamped a hand around Xander's mouth before he had a chance to yell out. She gave him a murderous glare and let him go, confident that he would not do it again.

"What was that?" he whispered.

Buffy ignored him and motioned Oz to watch her back as she walked into the shadows. A loud yell startled Oz and Xander. They both jumped back, ready to fight if they had to. Buffy emerged from the bushes with a sheepish Angel behind her. Xander growled low in his throat. Angel growled back.

"What do you want dead boy?" Xander sneered.

"I thought I told you not to call me that!" Angel told him fiercely moving up towards Xander.

Xander stayed in the same spot, not at all frightened by Angel's threat. Oz eyed Xander shortly, before pulling him back behind him. Oz stood in front of Xander, separating them from each other.

"I don't need you help, Oz," Xander yelled.

"No, but Cordeila would kill me if she found out that I let you go up against Angel by yourself."

Buffy sighed, "Why did you come up on us like that, Angel?"

Angel looked at her in concern, "I another force has come to Sunnydale. I need to talk to you and Giles about it."

Oz nodded, "Lets go then, we haven't seen much action around here anyways."

The foursome walked off towards the library to find out exactly what Angel had to say.

"What are you guys doing back so soon?" Cordeila asked as soon as they walked through the door of the library.

"Slow night," answered Oz.

"Yeah, and Dead Boy here wanted us to come back so he can share some insightful information with us," Xander said with little emotion.

Angel growled in his throat again.

"Good, now you can help me carry these books," Cordeila shoved a stack of books into Xander's hands.

"Well, Angel, what do you have to share with us?" Giles asked removing himself from behind a mound of books.

Giles pushed back his glasses further up on his face, ready to listen and take apart anything that he had to tell them. Angel cleared his throat.

"I was looking for anything to do with the 'Demon Lord' when I saw several vampires converging at one spot. I followed to see this girl on horseback with a wolf at her side. They were a group of vampires close to fifty in number, but she didn't seem to care. She laughed at them and attacked. I have never seen someone to fight so ruthlessly. She defeated all of them without breaking a sweat. She had a strange power too. It wasn't witchcraft though. The weird thing was that I could've sworn she knew I was there watching, but she didn't try to come after me!"

"That's a bunch of BULL CRAP!" Xander yelled.

"Are you calling me a liar?" Angel said in quiet anger.

"Yeah, I guess I am!"

"What's wrong with Xander?" Willow asked Buffy.

Buffy shrugged, "Male hormones?"

"Who was this girl?" Giles interrupted.

Angel shrugged his shoulders, "I didn't recognize her; it was too dark."

"That's only because there was really nobody there because your making this up!" yelled Xander in fury.

Cordeila sighed as her boyfriend yet again was sticking his nose, no, make that his entire face where it didn't belong.

"Come, Xander," she commanded grabbing his arm and dragging him away, "it's time for your medication.

"What medication?"

Cordeila sighed in relief.

"Anything else you know, Angel?"

"Yeah, there was something familiar about her, as if I met someone like her before."

"I what way?" asked Giles.

"Well, I don't really know, but I do know that she didn't destroy me when she had the chance," Angel answered with little emotion.

Giles nodded, "Willow, what about you? Did you find anything about that poem?"

Willow was peering at the screen mildly confused, "It keeps coming up the same thing, and nothing else. I type in the poem and up comes Yori."

"What's Yori?" questioned Oz.

"Yori is mystical armor with unspeakable power," Giles told him formally.

"Who wears the Yori?" asked Angel.

He remembered that word specifically, and tried to figure out where he had heard it before.

"The last recorded owners died about 400 years ago, according to their ages."

"But what does this poem have to do with it?" Oz pondered more to himself than anyone else.

"Oh, great. We are going to wait for some dead guys to show up and save the day! Come on, I don't see why I can't destroy this head on!" Buffy sighed.

Angel glared at her, "You won't do such a thing."

Buffy matched his glare with one of her own. Oz shrugged his shoulders and walked over to Willow muttering to himself about them. Giles pushed his glasses up his nose again, and walked away. Something about Willow had told him bothered him deeply. He went to find the Cordex and see what it had to say about this Yori.

'I just hope that there is some help one the way. I don't think we can do this by ourselves.'

Malaca paced around the kitchen getting herself something to snack on while she waited for her laptop to sign on online. It was taking a long time. Malaca anxiously grabbed an apple to munch on while she talked to her friends. She had much to report, and as little as she liked it, she was going to need some help to stay the lesser demons while she went for their leader. The Yori would help them out in destroy larger numbers than that she could do with her own sword and knives. Maybe they could even come over as exchange students. At least it would look like that. Dais was very good at forging papers, after all he did forge hers to this school.

The computer did its cheerful welcome. Malaca sighed, it was going to be a long night. Sipping a cup of coffee she typed in some codes. This led her to a private chat room protected from hackers with five barriers, as safe as they could make it. She sipped her coffee again, waiting for Mia to sign on. A screen name popped up along with a stupid "Mia4567 has entered the room". Malaca wanted to scream at the stupid computers metallic voice. Deciding against throwing the laptop out the window, Malaca turned down the sound.

Mia: What's the situation over there like?

Malaca: Tiring, I might need some help.

Kento stole the keyboard: Good, I was lookin' forward to some head bangin'.

Malaca: Who's up?

Mia: Everyone but Rowen. He fell asleep on the couch, but he wanted to know if the link traveled that far?

Malaca: Don't know hold on..

The Ronins, who were crowed around Mia' expensive computer waited impatiently. Malaca opened her mind and searched her links. She smiled as she felt the nine stronger links holding on to her soul firmly. She examined them with her minds eye, each a different color representing the armor the bearer wore. Malaca faintly smiled as she realized that her link with Ryo was burning more fiercely than the rest, a product of the last battle and her brush with death. She passed by his link though and went to the one that was dark blue. She tugged on it firmly.

~ROWEN GET YOUR BLUE ASS UP NOW BEFORE I ROAST YOUR BUTT LIKE I DID LAST TIME!~

Rowen jumped up screaming, "No!"

The warlords looked at him in surprise.

"What's wrong with you?" Sekhmet questioned.

Rowen glanced around nervously, "Is she here, is she coming for me?"

"What ever is your problem Strata, afraid of a dream?" laughed Dais.

"It was not a dream! She's coming for me, save me Sage!" Rowen dashed behind his friend cowering slightly.

Sage started to laugh, "It seems that Malaca can communicate telepathically that far, and Rowen was her first victim"

~Of course I can talk this far, what do you think I am?~

~Malaca!~

Rowen sighed in relief~Why do you insist on doing that?~

Malaca laughed~Because it's funny to watch you all jump!~

Sai frowned in confusion~How can you watch us when your not here?~

Malaca laughed again~Why Sai you forgot our armors power~

~Besides your communication, and pyro?~

~Yep!~

"What else is there?" whispered Kento to Sai.

He shrugged in answer. Malaca contained another giggle.

~Watch~

The Ronins looked at each other in confusion, 'Watch for what?'

Mia sighed, "I wish I knew what they were talking about."

A bright light flooded the room. It pulled back flaring up and out as it disappeared. Malaca stood smirking.

"Teleportation."

"Malaca!" Ryo ran forward and encased her in a big bear hug.

"Uhf! Watch it Ryo, I'm sore," she laughed.

"Show off," muttered Kale.

"Your just upset that a girl can kick your ass farther than Sage was ever allowed to do," mocked Malaca as she was freed from Ryo's encasing hug.

"Why, I goin' to.."

"Your not going to do anything," Kayura told him.

"Besides we need to know what Malaca has to say before she kicks your butt all over the place," Sage laughed.

"Halo.."

Malaca chuckled slightly at the enduring fight, "Now this is what I've been missing all this time."

"All this time? It's only been two days since you left," Mia pointed out.

"Oh, is that all?" Malaca paused thinking, "It seemed longer."

Ryo intertwined his fingers with Malaca's, and she leaned on to his strong shoulders. Kento ran off to get some food; his rummaging heard from across the house. Sai huffed, and followed making sure Kento didn't do anything to his kitchen.

"So you said you'll need our help?" asked Rowen rubbing his eyes from sleepiness.

"Yeah. I can't deal with the overrun of demons alone. The yori should be able to destroy large numbers of them without having to get to physical."

Kale raised an eyebrow, "Why can't do it yourself?"

Malaca glared at him, "No, I just don't want to spend the rest of my life over there doing a mission that would take me a month with help."

"Ahh, so you can't do it by yourself," Sekhmet drawled.

"Whatever," answered Malaca slapping her forehead in frustration.

"So, you said that you needed help, when do you need us by? I mean, not even half of us know English! How are we going to fit in over there without being noticed?" Mia questioned.

"Well, is that your only problem?" Malaca blinked in surprise.

"Yes!"

"Well, that was never a problem. My skill of my armor that was given to me because of my kanji, is communication. If I mess around with the links a little, I think I let you understand English permanently."

"Can you do that?" Kayura asked in amazement.

"I don't say things unless I mean them, Kayura, and if doesn't work we have the staff as a back up. It should enhance whatever power I have and make it work," Malaca answered simply.

Kayura blushed, "Uh, yeah. I guess so."

"What do you want us to do?" asked Dais with a yawn.

"I want you guys to help me destroy the lesser demons, but leave the Demon Lord to me. I'm the only one that can destroy that guy."

"Why only you?" Mia asked with her laptop in front of her.

Malaca looked at Mia, her hazel eyes chilly and deadly in their own right, "Because the Dragon told me to."

Mia looked at her wide eyed, and nodded. Sage chuckled as he reached around Mia's waist, and pulled her into his lap. Her eyes widened in surprise, and then giggling she gave him a deep kiss. The two stopped when they heard smacking noises coming from in front of them. Kento had shoved his face as close as he could to the two lovers, and was smacking his lips together in a false kiss. Sage shook his fist at Kento. Kento laughed and batted his lashes at Sage.

Then in a terribly high-pitched voice he called out, "Why Sagey dear, I want a kiss too!"

Chuckles were heard across the room. Sage calmly picked Mia off of his lap, and then stiffly walked after Kento. Kento laughed again and darted out of the room. Kale perked up his ears to hear what was going on.

A couple of muffled laughs and thuds emanated from the hall.

"But Sagey dear, I didn't know you cared s-UMPH!"

Then it was quiet. Sage walked back into the room and set Mia back on his lap, his one violet eye calm and a smirk placed firmly on his face. Kento hobbled into the room a short minute later, still smiling.

Ryo laughed shaking his head. Malaca looked up at him.

"What's your problem?"

Ryo smiled at her and said innocently, "Oh, I was just thinking how you remind me of Kento sometimes."

"WHAT! Why you!" Malaca laughed and began to tickle Ryo in just the right spots.

"Stop, stop. I surrender, just stop!"

Malaca raised an eyebrow, "You might surrender, but that doesn't mean that I'll stop."

"What do I have to do to make you stop?" Ryo pouted.

Malaca shrugged, "Come with me?'

She gave him her best pity me look, while Ryo just acted like he was considering it. Sekhmet shook his head in amusement, Dragon-children could be so scary sometimes.

"Perhaps."

"RYO!"

Ryo laughed ducking Malaca's attack, "I'm just joking. We'll all go."

"Excuse me Wildfire, I don't want to go," Sekhmet snorted.

"Ah, come on Sek. It'll be fun, besides I kind of want to see this 'America' that Malaca's always talking about. It sounds interesting," Kale exclaimed.

Dais nodded, "He's got a point."

"But we aren't exactly going to fit in, as the Ronins would put it," Sekhmet retorted.

Dais glanced over at Kale, "He's got a point too."

"It's not like you have to be seen in public if you don't want to," Rowen stated rolling his eyes.

Sekhmet glanced to Kale and Kale shrugged. Malaca sighed.

"It's not like you wouldn't fit in. Everyone in America is different. It's not like here. If someone walked down the street with purple hair, nose rings, and a pink leather suit, most people would barely blink. Trust me, if you've been to Miami, you're used to seeing odd things like that," commented Malaca.

Sekhmet sighed, "Your not going to stop until I go are you?"

Malaca smiled impishly. Sekhmet sighed again.

"Thought so."

"Then its settled, off to America we go!" crowed Kento jumping on Sai.

Kayura laughed, "We'll meet you over there tomorrow night, is that okay?'

Malaca nodded also holding in a chuckle, "That's fine."

"KENTO GET OFF OF ME!"

Dais looked over at Kale, "I think Torrent's mad."

"No, where did you get that idea?" Sekhmet answered dryly.

Rowen sighed, "Your right Sage, they have been hanging around us to long."

Wow! I finished it! I've worked on it for almost two months off and on, to finally finish it! WOOOHOOOO! Okay, I'm going to go now. Ja ne!
