Dragon Flames

Chapter 1

By: Malaca

"This is amazing!"

"Yeah, I 've never seen such extensive files. Look they even go into description about the Inferno armor."

"Why, is it rare to find information on the white armor?" Malaca asked.

"Yeah, it is. Most people have never heard of its legend."

"Well," Malaca stated pointing at some of the armors, "it looks like whoever wrote this thinks that these armors weren't legend. I've never even heard of these armors."

"Maybe you're right. After all not many even know about the white armor, as you call it."

"So you agree that's there's got to be somebody out there that knows about the armors?"

"Yep-, hey what's going on?" Mia asked as a loud beeping sounded from her computer.

"What is it?" Malaca questioned looking at the screen.

Mia pushed a disk into the computer, hastily copying the documents before saving and exiting the main files.

"What was that?" asked Malaca again.

"The host located a disturbance and tried to track our location. I think I got us out before they could find our location."

"Damn, they are good. We were only on their files for a few minutes. What did you get copied?"

"I don't know, I'll have to find out later today."

Malaca nodded and then changed the subject, "Why are you up so early, again?"

"Oh-," Mia started waving her hand in the air, "the boys, especially Kento, eat a lot of food. Sai tries to help out with the cooking, but during the school year I try to do at least breakfast for them."

"Okay, do you want me to help? I'm pretty decent in the kitchen."

"Sure, I don't mind. I sure could use the help!"

The two women laughed again as they made their way to the kitchen. Mia showed Malaca around the kitchen. Malaca looked it all over with a critical eye.

"Nice kitchen, Mia," Malaca commented.

"Thanks," Mia said, "this was really my grandfather's house. That is before, before-"

"Mia, you don't have to tell me, I think I already know."

Mia nodded, trying to hold in the tears. Malaca saw this and smiled, knowing it was time to change the subject.

"Hey, Mia, I'll tell you what. Since I know you rather be sleeping or researching on the computer, why don't you let me cook breakfast?"

Mia looked up and smiled at the younger girl, "Sure!"

With that she ran out of the kitchen. Malaca could have sworn she saw her skip the last step. Malaca chuckled and began to cook a feast that they would never forget, at least Kento wouldn't.

"Hey, Mia, I'm starved! What are ya' cookin'?" Kento yelled enthusiastically.

Mia looked up from her laptop slowly measuring the hungry boy with a raised eyebrow before answering.

"I wouldn't know, Malaca's cooking."

Kento's jaw dropped low, "You let her cook! What did I ever do to you! Now what am I going to eat?"

A light bulb appeared over his head, "SAI!"

"Sorry Kento, you either eat what she makes or don't eat at all," Mia stated quietly her eyes returning to her work.

"Huh-, man, Mia!" Kento grumbled.

Sai ran down the stairs taking them two at a time. His eyes desperate, almost like a deer caught in the headlights of a car.

"What's wrong Kento?" he asked out of breath.

"Nothin'," Kento mumbled.

Sai looked in confusion at his friend, then at Mia, who was typing furiously on her computer.

"Mia?" he asked.

Mia continued to type, apparently ignoring the young warrior. Sai huffed loudly, throwing his hands up into the air.

"Why do I bother?"

Kento looked at his friend from beneath his bushy eyebrows. He started to say something but was interrupted by a pouncing tiger. White Blaze launched himself on to Kento's lap, spilling Kento and what remained of his chair over the floor.

"White Blaze! What are you *eew* doing?" Kento exclaimed from underneath the large cats paws.

Blaze answered with a cold lick to Kento's face. Sai stifled a laugh behind his hand.

"What's going on?" Sage questioned leaving the bathroom for the first time in like two hours.

"See for yourself!" exclaimed Sai still holding in laughter.

Sage looked around the counter to see Kento being mobbed by the over-enthusatic tiger. He laughed out loud. Ryo came down the stairs and seeing the predicament his friend was in, joined in the laughter. Even Mia looked up from her work. Raising an eyebrow to the sight, she looked back to her laptop and sipped a drink from her coffee.

"Okay, hahaha! Now, GET THIS TIGER OFF ME!" yelled Kento with all of his might.

"All right White Blaze, I think he's had enough. Come over here and I'll see about your breakfast," Ryo told his faithful companion.

The tiger nodded his head in answer and walked away from his "victim". Ryo laughed again before leading his tiger to the closed kitchen door. Ryo was startled to death when the door banged open revealing Malaca in a white apron and holding a large platter of pancakes.

"Okay," she said waving a spatula in one hand, "who's hungry?"

Kento looked up from the ground and started to charge Malaca and her food. Malaca calmly threw the platter in to the air and stepped out of the way of Kento's death charge. Kento, not expecting this, ran into the wall. Malaca then raised her hand and caught the falling platter before it hit the ground. She then walked over to the table and set the plate down on the surface as if nothing had happened. Kento quickly recovered from his meeting with the wall, ravenously charged the pancakes. Malaca dodged his charge and walked back in to the kitchen. A few minutes later she brought in other foods.

"Eggs anyone?" she asked the four awestruck boys.

Even Mia looked up from her computer at this and stared at the amount of food Malaca had prepared.

"Oh, my bad, I forgot to bring out the muffins. Be right back with them and the orange juice," Malaca said turning on her heel.

"Thismp thvery goof," Kento told the others, his mouth full of food.

The other three boys including White Blaze remained staring at the closed kitchen door. Malaca emerged from it again and was surprised to see all of them looking at her, all that is except for Kento, who now was digging in heartily in the food. Malaca reached down and place a plate of meat on the floor for White Blaze.

~Hey where's mine?~ questioned Revenge.

"Who said you were going to get any? Especially after that comment you made to me this morning!" Malaca accused the wolf, shaking the spatula at him.

The four Ronin's looked up from their breakfast, not in the least surprised that she was talking to the wolf.

~Hey, I'm sorry! You don't stink that bad! I just want some food!~

Malaca smiled slyly and said, "Okay, apology accepted."

She placed bowl of slop on the ground. Revenge wrinkled his nose.

~Not even Hardrock would eat that @#$&^~

"My, such language. Oh well, I guess you don't eat at all then."

The wolf mumbled something Malaca couldn't hear.

"What was that Revenge, I can't hear ya'"

~Nothing at all. I was just remarking about the quality and quantity of the food you made. It is wonderful.~

"Suck up," Malaca accused waving the spatula at the hungry wolf.

The wolf rolled his eyes and continued to eat from the bowl. Sighing Malaca returned to the kitchen to retrieve some more food to set in front of the walking bottom less pit. Returning from the kitchen, Malaca caught Kento's eye. Kento hastily turned away from Malaca. Malaca had a hurt look on her face.

"No matter what I do, he still hates me! What did I do to him?"

~You were born, that's enough~ answered Revenge

"Was I talking to you, Nosey?" Malaca exclaimed, throwing her arms sky-high in desperation.

The wolf raised his eyebrow and continued to eat.

#What is the world coming to these days! I can't even think to myself without someone butting their heads into my conversation with myself.# Malaca yelled to anyone who could understand.

Sage and Sai, being the only ones awake that could understand fluent English, stifled laughter. Malaca glared at them and paced over to her seat to eat. Ryo looked at them in confusion.

"What was that all about?" he asked Sage.

Sage didn't answer, since he was laughing so hard he fell out of his chair.

"What is so funny?" questioned Kento, for the first time interested about what was going on.

Malaca glared at Sai over her plate of pancakes, warning him not spill what he knew. Sage missed this glare and proceeded to inform his friends about what Malaca had declared.

"She said- *Umph*!" Sage started, but was interrupted by a flying spoon hitting him directly in the head.

Sage looked over at Malaca, who was innocently pouring syrup over her pancakes. Sage glared at her with his one visible eye. Malaca ignored his glare, fully absorbed in her food.

"Uuuhhhh-, I'm stuffed," Kento exclaimed in dismay.

The people at the table, excluding Malaca looked up and stopped what they were doing. Ryo's hand was holding a fork with a load of pancakes on it paused right in front of his mouth. His mouth hanged open as if he was going to take a bite of the food. Sage was in the middle of drinking a cup of OJ and he too was paused in drinking that. White Blaze looked up from his meal, his fur around his mouth dripping with the juices of his meat. Revenge looked up from his slop as well. Sai looked awestruck in Kento's direction, not noticing his tea was already refilled and continued to pour more in to the overflowing cup. Mia paused over her computer, her fingers in the same exact place when Kento had exclaimed his worst nightmare. Malaca merely continued to eat, ignoring what was going on around her.

"What is everyone staring at!" Kento yelled.

"Kento-full! Someone get a camera!" exclaimed Sage.

Sai ran off to do just that.

~That's what I call a Kodak Moment!~ White Blaze exclaimed to Revenge and Malaca.

"Yep-, I agree with you White Blaze," Malaca said looking up from her finished plate.

"What does White Blaze say?" Ryo asked Malaca, "I didn't know you could understand him."

"You never asked. He says that that is what I call a Kodak Moment," Malaca answered taking her plate to the sink.

"White Blaze, you traitor," Kento told the tiger.

White Blaze snorted and went back to work finishing his meal. Revenge rolled his eyes again and followed White Blaze's example. Malaca appeared out of the kitchen again, this time without an apron.

"Where is Rowen?" she asked leaning against the door frame.

Sai emerged from behind a plant and snapped a picture of Kento before answering Malaca's question.

"I did it last time, who's turn is it this time?" Sai asked.

"Thanks," Malaca said dryly, "that answered my question. Well?"

"I'm not doing it!" Kento exclaimed.

"Either am I!" both Sage and Ryo declared.

"Do what!" Malaca said frustrated.

"Wake Rowen up, that's what," answered Mia, "and to answer the boys little claim, I'm not doing it either."

"New, girls turn!" Kento said gleefully, wanting to do anything to get rid of her.

"Sure whatever," Malaca said shrugging her shoulders, "How hard can it be?"

The room was deathly silent.

"That hard, huh? #Man I'm going to have fun!#" she exclaimed, running up the stairs as she rubbed her hands together in maniacal glee.

Sai and Sage both stifled laughter again.

"What did she say this time?" Kento said being his turn to throw his hands up in defeat.

"Oh, just something along the lines of, I'm going to have fun!" Sage said laughing loudly.

Ryo and Kento looked at each other before joining in the laughter. Mia rolled her eyes at the sight of the four boys rolling on the ground. Then she looked up with pity at the ceiling.

"May God have mercy on her soul," she whispered.

*Bang*

*Oww*

"EE- stop that! WHAT DID I DO TO YOU?"

"AAHHHHH-, HELP ME! WATCH IT, OWW!"

Rowen ran down the stairs as fast as he could, apparently running away from something.

"I give up! I swear I up, just leave me alone!" he screamed cowering behind Ryo.

Malaca appeared from the darkened doorway, smiling wolfishly.

"Why, Rowen, why don't you tell your friends what you so kindly tried to pull on me?"

Rowen cowered still deeper behind Ryo. Ryo raised his eyebrow.

"Save me guys, she's a devil in disguise!"

Malaca raised her eyebrows and took her hand from behind her back. It was smoking from heat. Malaca blew on it and the steam disappeared.

Malaca smiled again, "Pyro, gotta love it!"

Mia stifled a giggle. Malaca raised her eyebrow again, and eyed the staircase.

~Why be normal?~

Malaca took a running start and jumped the railed hallway meant to keep people from falling off the hallway. She turned her body, holding her skirt close to her legs as she performed a perfect ariel flip and even added in a twist for flair. She landed facing away from the Ronins. She turned and smiled ruthlessly over in Rowen's direction before flouncing off in the direction of the living room. The rest of the Ronins looked at each other in amazement. Rowen was up!

"Guys, is she gone yet?" Rowen questioned from behind Ryo.

This caused a pandemonium of laughter.

"What's so funny?" asked a confused Rowen.

The sky continued it's torrential downpour. Sai looked gleefully up at the sky and danced around in circles.

"I'm glad someone's happy," grumbled Kento who at that moment resembled something closer to a soaked rat.

Malaca twirled around graceful, enjoying the rain as much as Sai was. The fire was not the dragon element. There were earth dragons, water dragons, light dragons, life dragons, lava dragons, sky dragons, ice dragons, celestial dragons, eternal dragons, magical dragons, and the most known, the fire dragons. Malaca recalled all of this and rejoiced. There were so many not even Malaca knew all of the species. Prancing around outside, she waited with the other Ronin's for Mia to come out and give them a ride.

"Come on Mia, it's wet out here!" yelled Kento in dismay.

He hated the rain, and he hated the thunder and lightning even more. Lightning struck a nearby tree causing Kento to jump in fright. Sage raised an eyebrow. Lighting was his element, along with light. What was up with this lighting? He could tell it wasn't natural, but what was it. His eye focused on the sky, trying to locate the source of the storm. He didn't notice Ryo sneaking up on him.

"HEY, SAGE, BUDDY! WHAT'S UP?" Ryo yelled in his ear.

Now it was Sage's turn to jump in the air. Sage punched Ryo hard in the arm. Ryo laughed and dodged Sage's blow. Sage continued his attack, while Ryo dodged each attack taunting Sage to follow. Within minutes, they were chasing each other around the house. Mia appeared on the porch and did not look happy. Her anger reflected to the Ronins. They all stopped their pursuits and looked at her.

"WHAT AM I YOUR SERVANT! I HAVE WORK TO DO AND IT NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW!" she yelled.

Malaca looked at her quizzically.

Sage beat her to the chase, "Um-, Mia? What's wrong?"

"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT'S WRONG MR. SAGE DATE, I'M SICK OF BEING YOUR LAP DOG. I HAVE TO RESEARCH THESE NEW ARMORS BEFORE THE DISK IS DELETED. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I AM NOT DRIVING YOU ALL TO SCHOOL TODAY!"

"But Mia, it's raining!" whined Kento.

"Then get an umbrella!" with that she turned away and stormed off in to the house.

Malaca ignored the rest of the Ronins conversation and concentrated hard. Rasing her hand straight in front of her she pictured what she wanted and it came, with Mia attached. The keys came to their call through the front door. Mia barely had the chance to open the door before she literally flew through the air and hovered in front of Malaca's upraised hand.

"Help!" Mia stuttered.

Malaca opened her eyes and stifled a laugh, "Sorry, Mia. I didn't mean to drag you along, too."

Malaca slowly released her hold on the keys and Mia landed on the ground softly. Mia glared at Malaca.

"What are you trying to pull?" she squeaked.

Malaca shrugged, "I just wanted to borrow your keys."

"NO!" Mia stormed back in to the house.

"Oh well-, I tried," Malaca shrugged along with Ryo.

"Lets start walking," Sage stated.

"Yipeeeeeee!" yelled Sai.

"We've got to stop feeding that boy sugar," mumbled a wet Kento.

Ryo followed behind his friends, but soon stopped when he noticed that they weren't all with him. He turned around and saw Sage staring at Mia's figure through the glass window. Ryo smiled faintly. His friend had no idea how much he cared for Mia. Ryo felt a nudge on his arm and turned around to see Malaca, remarkably dry even though it was pouring. She smiled at him showing a glint of white. Ryo smiled back.

"Come on. He'll follow us when he's ready," she said drawing Ryo away from his friend.

Ryo followed, but continued to watch his friend from the corner of his eye.
