What IS QCC?QCC is an acronym for 'Quick Color Changing' which is a phrase I just made up on the spot to describe what you will now learn if you continue to read, below!
If you have done any patch work before, you may have spent an extensive amount of time painstakingly changing the colors of an item, one square at a time. QCC is a method with which you can basically change a color with a single sweep of your mouse. Once you know how to do it, It is VERY quick and VERY easy!
You've reeled me in, Let's do it!
1) Click on the Start button at the bottom left hand corner of your screen, float your mouse up to Programs, up to Accessories and then across and then down to Paint. Click on that to open the Paint program.
2) Now go back to your Furcadia window and click on the Patch Editor button to open FshEd.
You will need both programs open to do QCC 3) Select the item you want to change the colors of.
To assist with your first tryout of the QCC method, I have created a small iteme.FSH file that you can download here. Open this zip file and extract the contents into your Furcadia\patches directory. The zip contains it's own folder within which is the Iteme.fsh and fbj properties files that I'm working with to write this guide. Once you have done that, go to FshEd, double click on the patches folder, then the qcc_chair folder and open the Iteme.FSH file you see there. You will see the below picture there as an item!

4) Select and place the colors that you want to change the item to, below the item. The seat items in Furcadia (specifically, the red part of the above picture) are made up of four separate shades of the same color. Thus, you need to select and place four shades of the particular color that you want to change the seat to, below the item as seen in the above picture. In the Iteme.FSH file I have already selected and placed four shades of purple for you to work with. But, if you were to do it on your own, you would select the lightest or the darkest color, and depending on which you selected, then place the four separate colors below the item in descending or ascending order (lightest to darkest or darkest to lightest!).
You can do this by selecting thepen-sized button (that is the square shape you see in the above picture), and then choosing and placing the colors.
(To see the shades more clearly, read the following!: As you already have FshEd open to the item, go to it now and press the 'R' key on your keyboard until you're happy with how maximized the item is. If you want to zoom out again (minimize), press the 'F' key.)5) Select and copy the item.
Click on the select tool's button
. Now click down below the item, not too far, just enough that when you drag your mouse upwards, still holding the button down, a square will start to grow and then if you move your mouse towards the upper left hand corner, a white square will appear around the image. When that appears, let go of the mouse button and then press Ctrl+C to copy the image.
6) Paste the item into Paint.
Go back to the Paint window and press Ctrl+V to paste the item into it. To maximize or minimize the image in Paint, hold down the Ctrl key and press the Page Up or Page Down buttons.
7) Selecting the colors.
Click on the eyedropper tool's button
in Paint and right click on the darkest square of purple (or whatever color you may have placed there). Next, click on the eyedropper tool's button (see above) again, as it may have become unselected, and now left click on the darkest shade of red.

The above image has selected an area of the darkest shade of red, for your reference.
8) Changing the colors of the item!
Click on the eraser tool's button
in Paint and right click, holding down that button of your mouse, and wave the tool over the picture of the chair, in particular the area of the dark red color. When you are sure you've covered all the appropriate areas, let go. The chair should now look somewhat like the below:

Repeat the above process with the lighter shades until the entire item has changed to the new colors.
The seat should now look like the below:

9) Moving the image back to the FSH file.
Click on Paint's select tool's button
and follow the instructions from step 5. But this time paste the chair back into FshEd, either over the top of the old red chair or add a new shape to the file by clicking on Edit, Add Shapes, changing the number 5 to 1 and pressing Add, then pasting the chair.
Once there, if you copied the squares of color with the image, click on the eraser tool's button in FshEd and carefully move it over the squares to remove them.
Optionally, you could remove the colored squares from below the item before copying back into FshEd. This could be done merely by clicking on the eyedropper tool's button, right clicking on the pink background color of the item that was copied with it from FshEd and then selecting the eraser tool's button. But this time, instead of holding down the right button of your mouse, just use your mouse as you would normally and carefully remove the squares of color.
Save and you're done!
