After
being born and raise in Germany, I moved over to the UK in summer 1997,
and have been
there
since.
The
prime goal of this year is for me to finish my university degree in Maths
w/ Computer Science
at
the University of Sussex at Brighton.
Apart
from being a student, I also work part time as a language tester and translator
for computer games,
from
English to German, of course, with a company called Babel
Media. Language testing means that
you
receive an already 'translated' version of the product, go through it and
report all incorrect instances of
language
that you find, usually EVERYTHING in the program. That is another reason
why testing and
translating
isnt too far off, mainly because its also my job to suggest a better translation.
German
versions of games like Starship Troopers, Simon the Sorcerer 3D,
B17, Halcyon Sun,
Championship
Manager 3 and (DONT SHOOT ME - this game is AWFUL) Squad Leader -
they
all carry my personal stamp.
When
I'm finished with my degree I will make a trip to the USA in order to verify
my prejudices against
a
society that won't allow people to drink under 21, but LET THEM DRIVE a
car at 16, as well as not
having
a democratic elective system and calling themselves a democracy.
Ok,
don't take this too seriously, you know me, I am like that, sarcastic.
After that, I will start working as a temp while looking for a real job, well-paid and challenging.
More to come...
