The other teams in their Conference once and four teams from the other Conference. Those four games will be divided between the other two divisions at random. Ties will be settled after week 14 as noted above. Each team plays seven home games and seven away games.

DRAFT
Owners will build their teams through a bidding draft for rounds 1-4 and a Serpentine draft for rounds 5-16. We will draw numbers for the Serpentine rounds every 2 rounds. Each team will have 16 team players. Each team will be given $100 to use to bid for draft picks in an open bidding system. This $100 will have to last you for 4 draft picks. The draft will start with teams bidding for the first pick in the first round. The top bid will win that draft pick and will then be required to make their pick. If a team uses all of their $100 on 1, 2 or 3 picks, then their remaining picks will be the 16th, 15th, and/or 14th picks in the 4th round. In the case where 2 players have the same amount of money left and both of them want to bid all of their money, the tie goes to the team who HAS had the most recent pick of the 2 tied teams.
Each Owner will draft to fill 16 slots on his/her team
roster. You will be allowed a maximum at
each position as follows: QB = 3, RB = 4, WR = 5, TE = 3, K = 3, DEF = 3
During the draft, we are going to limit each team to only 2 QBs, 2 Kickers and 2 Team Defenses. Since there are 32 NFL teams and each team
has 1 starter of each of these positions.
After the draft, you will be able to have 3 at these positions.
TRANSACTIONS
Trades are permissible through week 10 of the regular season. No trades will be permitted after that week. Trades will also be subject to approval of the rules committee. And may be put to a league vote.
Player transactions are permitted through week 17 including the playoffs. You may add a player from the free agent list. (A player not owned by any other team is a free agent).
- All transactions up to week 1 are FREE, then all transactions (which consist of one add and one drop) cost $1.00.
- All transactions done on our draft day and the following day are pooled together and similar requests are selected by a roll of the die.
- All transactions from day 2 following the draft until Week 1 are on a first come, first served basis.

LINEUPS
Each week a lineup is turned in with 8 slots filled in. There is a submittal form on the GFL web site. The deadline for submitting starting lineups will be 15 minutes prior to the first NFL game each week. In the weeks with a Thursday game, the deadline will be 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. If you have no one playing in a Thursday or Saturday game, you may wait till Sunday to turn in your lineup. The mistakes you make are your own they will not be second guessed or corrected. If an Owner fails to submit a lineup on time for the week or simply wants to stand pat then the lineup submitted from the prior week will be used., Even if some of your players are on bye weeks. This default lineup will be used if available. To avoid any confusion get your weekly lineup turned in on time.
Each week you must start players in accordance with the two optional lineups below. In addition we have implemented the Home Team Advantage rule. In essence you may slot in an additional player (not a Defense) for each home game you play. So for example; If you are playing at home you may elect too start two QB's if you want. One being a Starter and the other a backup. After the games are played the QB with the higher of the two scores will be scored as the starter, the other QB will not count as starting for that week and will return to the bench. You may do this for any one position except for Defense. Remember to submit the player you wish to be your HFA player at the bottom of the submittal form with an appropriate comment. There is no Home Field Advantage in week 17 for the Championship game (determining 1st and 2nd place) or the Consolation game (determining 3rd and 4th place).

If a team decides to drop out of the league after the first week then their roster is frozen and will remain so until the season ends. If a starting lineup was provided that lineup will be in effect for the entire year. If not provided the commission will fill out the line up for the rest of the year. This process will keep our schedules intact and may provide a bit more Competition.
SCORING
Total Overall Points. Regardless of Division, a cumulative total of the points scored each week will be kept and a winner will be declared after the final game of week 14. A fixed percentage (10%) will be paid out to the overall points winner. This is paid before any other payouts.
Head to Head competition. The season is 17 weeks long. Traditional Head to Head competition will be played through week 14. Playoffs will occur in weeks 15 & 16 with the Championship game being played in week 17. After week 14 the top 8 teams qualify for the playoffs. The winners of the 4 divisions automatically are seeded. They will be seeded (based on their win/loss record ) as 1, 2, 3 & 4. The next 4 best teams according to Win /Loss records (regardless of Conference or Division) will also enter the playoffs as 5, 6, 7 & 8. Thus 8 teams are seeded #1 to #8, with the #1 team playing the #8 team, the #2 team playing the #7 team and so on.
