Vacation 2001
My vacation of Summer 2001 was a camping trip to Virginia.  I was supposed to spend a week camping on the beach on Chincoteague Island.   But I only made it three days after one of the worst storms I have ever seen washed out my tent.
I saw some of the most amazing things while I went kayaking in the bay.  The wild horses that roam the island had moved to the marshes during this day to stay cool.  Seeing the wild ponies roam the marsh and bay was absolutely amazing.
I spent a lot of time hiking the island.  The whole island is its own peace of serenity.
No more serenity after getting wet and sleeping in the car when the tent flooded --->
After camping was cut short, I took the opportunity to trek across the state.  I made stops in Yorktown and walked the old battlefields and toured the old town.  I stopped in Williamsburg..  Spent a lot of time in Richmond touring the city.  And then finally made my way to the Shenandoah Valley.  I had not been there in years, but it was as amazing as I remembered.
