Summer is here and not too soon for Meredith and her parents. Meredith wants to spend lots of time outside, but she still tries to occasionally bring her jacket even though it's 80 degrees F. Actually, Meredith is in love with clothes and accessories these days. She's obsessed with her hat and shoes; and is particularly enamoured with her "Dora the Explorer" hat.
Meredith is talking a lot these days. One of her newest developments is to ask what things are. She start pointing at random objects and ask her parents "What is dat! What is dat!" She's quite the quizmaster.
Last month, Meredith got to spend some time with both sets of grandparents. They all spoil her and lavish her with well-deserved attention, including trips to the zoo and museum. Meredith took a trip to Green Bay, where she saw her Grandma and Grandpa Burrows, as well as her Aunt Sonja, and Counsins: Zach, Natalya and Kayla. She also got to go swimming!
While in Green Bay, Derek and Jen took a break and utilized the free grandparent babysitting services and saw a movie: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Overall, a very fun and worthwhile movie. This is coming from two avowed Douglas Adams nerds.
With all the rain we've had, the bugs are out this season. Meredith has gotten some nasty bug bites and has developed a terrible fear of bees (we don't think she's been stung or anything). First thing in the morning and last thing before bedtime, Meredith likes to inspect and announce all the "owees" she has on her body.
