| April 19, 2005-- Now that the weather is finally nice and the ground isn't covered with frozen puddles, Meredith is spending every possible hour outside. And still, it's not enough. If she had her way she'd be able to wander around the neighborhood without end. But eventually her parents do persuade or trick her to come inside, often for her bath. Meredith loves the water. She talks about the bubbles in her bubble bath and will try to submerge as much of her body as possible in the tub. Her parents look forward to taking her swimming. Meredith loves to open and close doors. She has figured out how to open the downstairs bathroom door, to her parents' surprise. She also loves to open and shut the fence gate outside--although there have been a couple nasty finger-pinching instances. Meredith usually bounces back quite quickly though. Meredith has also done a bit of singing. Mostly she likes to listen to her parents singing (or attempt to sing as is in her dad's case). But sometimes Meredith will join in. She likes singing "Good Morning Sunshine" with her mom and "Minnie the Moocher" (chorus) and "B-I-N-G-O" with her dad. Another favorite is "What's the Name of That Song" from Seasame Street (Ernie and Bert). Lastly, Meredith has begun to learn some manners--particularly "please" and "thank you" (or "pfeeez" and "dat doo"). Sometimes she says "thank you" when she's giving something to her parents instead of receiving something. It's a learning process and she is on her way. -DBR |
