Sabbat Poetry

Samhain

Darkness come unto us now
The Lady lies alone

The sky and earth are silent here
The skin falls from the bone

Bitter are the winds that blow
Across the icy land

Life does sleep as if sweet Death
Does hold us in Her hand

And yet within there is the spark
The spiral twists again

Through the blackened nights we trust
The life blood does remain

Yule

Snow Queen

Some will call me Snow Queen
For my shadow will creep
From the north to the south
I will sing all to sleep

And I have in my heart
Such the sweetest of deaths
And the clouds will not part
'Til they catch every breath

Will you follow my path
Through the ice and the snow?
Will you learn how to laugh?
Will you share what you know?

For although I may bring
All that is dark and cold
I am true, the one thing
To make fragile hearts bold

Imbolc

Return! Return!
First sweet kisses of green
The sky turns to blue
As the Sun god is seen

Catch a glimpse of him now
As the lady will spin
Her new cloak of rebirth
For the children within

Spring Equinox

A sprinkle of new life
Upon the hallowed ground
Make swift your deeds tonight
By magick we are bound

I know the Sun and Moon
Will balance on this day
And give to me the strength
To do all that I pray

Beltane

By you, my love, I swear this true
In everything I say and do
We shall be one in heart and soul
I shall be yours, this is my goal

I stand beside the one for me
And hope that I shall always see
The love reflected in my eyes
From the first touch, until we die

Midsummer

By the gossamer wings and all magickal things
I shall dance through the sky on this night
Never dream me away for I come back today
Making stars seem a little more bright

There will never be more past the old faerie door
Than there lies in this meadow tonight
So we call once again to the sweetest refrain
And prepare to take our sacred flight

Lughnasadh

Child of the cornfields
Child of the earth
Hear me now as I call

Child of the magick
Child of rebirth
Watch as the Harvest King falls

By the fires we shall burn him!
By the water he drowns!
By the air we shall hang him!
Drag him all through the town!

Child of enchantment
Child of desire
This is our lesson to learn

Child of the Goddess
Child of the God
The King shall always return!

Autumn Equinox

Once again the time has come
When day and night are one
And we circle round again
Beneath the sacred Sun

My Lady moon, she casts an eye
Upon the Earth's repose
The trees all fading into gold
The plants that cease to grow

So, sleep my Earth and rest a while
There is no need to rush
For all happens in nature's way
The wheel turns as it must
