We got Cochise when we still had Sumter. Cochise was named after the Indian, yeah. I've always had to explain my pets' names to everyone. We got him at the mall.

Cochise lived a great 11 years with us. It's kind of weird growing up with a dog and just having them die. Cochise passed away on November 8th, 2002 on a Friday morning. He had been sick for some time and had been in and out of the vet's as well as the emergency vet clinic. He had a stroke, which he recovered from. It's kind of ironic because I think he died from a lung inflammation he had that we were also treating him for. I guess it was just his time though.

Cochise will be remembered as a loyal dog to those he trusted. He always liked to spend time with the family. He would always come into the living room with us. He never liked being alone. He slept with my mom all the time in their bedroom and he didn't like for anyone to go in there at night. If you did, he'd growl at you. heh.

He also wasn't shy about telling you when he wanted some water or food. That dog loved water! He would drink a whole pot full of water and then just sit there with his head rested on his pot, begging for more.

Now I am sure Cochise is with Sumter at the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks for the memories, Cochise and one day, we will all meet up again.

back.
