| THE STORY (useless info, only read if you love the album or want to use it to make fun of him) pyschic energizer was in direct influence by the eels, and mainly grandaddy. It's something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I wanted to plug the keyboard and be experimental and still stick to simple hooks. Manque was the first song written but wasn't developed until mid way through the cd. It pretty much sums up my pointless music ambition. its just a simple guitar picking with organ thrown on it. a formula i repeat quite often here.actually espirit de corps was the first song wrtten earlier in summer with Keith aukeman, it had a bit of a radiohead feel, but it kinda lost that and turned into just a weird hard to understand song, basically cause the lyrics are muffled. at the same time so i gave up was written musically with keith, but nothing ever came of it. I put lyrics to it, the given'er is refrence to the movie FUBAR which is a pretty good documentary that you ought to see. I'd rather watch it than listen to this cd. its the same formula (keys and drum beat) actually libby you'll see and reforming were even before those. they were created last spring and were recorded for the album "the great pop" with Eric schmall, but i never heard from him so i redid for myself, cause its my song. and if i could say anything about this song it would be get your cat or dog spade or nuetered, seriously. the numbers about pet reproduction are insane. you should investigat further.and about libby some girl had the name in my art class and i liked it, kinda old fanished, also my great grandmothers name. good name. intermezzo and houston were created and recorded in the fall. mezzo is about johnny cash (a hero) and houston is about porn star angelica houston (a heroine) i dont know her fucked up plastic surgically modled face and disproportionate body and the fact that she did a porno where she made it with 500 dudes, its just a weird infatuation that led to that song. but they are both my two favorites. vivisection was a good closing song and thats when i wrote it. It inspired me to write my next album all about pro-suicide just to get someone to kill themself listening to it. yeah i know kinda twisted and sick, but i just wanted to do something new, but i dropped the idea, cause I don't know enough about suicide. maybe to offensive too. the interlude was just adding a song and experiment. and finally drum major was a march song that i have been working on for over a year now. I finally put it together at the end of the album. I think i was pretty drunk when i made that one too. kinda weird. actually i was probably hammered for alot of this album. but hey that sums it up, this album is electronic indie pop. it draws from alot of sources and the only coherence here is the keyboard's soul. |
