Chapter One

During the time of Kings and castles, in a place not known by many, lived an ancient civilization. One hidden by rock and water.  This place was called, Maranwe.
In this land the villagers were known as Fiirimas.  They were known to be tall, slender, creatures.  Not quite elves, but also not human.  They were an intriguing race, with long flowing silver hair, and dark purple skin.  They had had ears that resembled those of an elf, but their body and strength was that of a human.  They had a strong sense of hearing, and were very quick on their feet.  They could sense danger from 100 yards away, and believed in the need to fight to protect their civilization.  Fiirimas were also known to live for many years.  They have been known to live for 600 years or more, not immortal but far longer than any human could.  They also very rarely changed their opinions.  At a very young age they are taught values, and some they disregard and there are the others, the ones they will keep with them for all of their life.
The land the Fiirimas lived on is made up of white grass, green bushes and tall trees, resembling those of weeping willows.  The trees were made up of brown bark, with long white and brown branches and deep blue-purple leaves that grew on it.  In the middle of the civilization there was a sacred Lake.  Made up of the crystal-blue water, and dark blue rocks.  The water was said to heal any injury or illness.  Flowing into the lake were many waterfalls.  The waterfalls are said to have come from all ends of the earth.
The Fiirimas lived a very simple and plain life.  They were very much ahead of the time, and spent much of their life inventing new ways to improve.  They had come up with a way to make a flying vehicle, one that could easily transport them to wherever they wanted to go.  Although their powers and inventions were far more advanced than any human race, the source of their power was growing weaker with time.  The source was a magical stone, said to be located on the bottom of the lake.  Very few knew its exact location and the ones that did never told.  The stone is said to give off a power far greater than any ever found before.  It was the source of the Firrimas power.  The problem was the stone seemed to be getting weaker.  Every century it seemed to lose a little bit more of its power.  The stone had lasted the Firrimas for many centuries.  The problem was that no one knew how to save it.  Although it would still take many centuries for the stone to lose all its power, it would begin the end of their civilization if no one came up with a way to save the magical stone.
