Brandy

The door slams, making the house shake
My eyes, agitated with anger, look up to meet a fan of golden hairs
The overwhelming noise begins to sneak through my ears
Beginning to soften, I now focus on a growing smile
A bath of slobbery kisses overcome me
My once burning tears now begin to shrink
Smiling, I take in the excitement my arrival brought
Picking myself up, I reflect on the long wait that must have preceded my return
Two brown marble eyes begin to follow me around the room
Settling down with my golden friend in sight
I pick up on the drum of a soft snoring
The comforting sound of a most loyal friend
Warming my bed for the cold winter night
Knowing that in the morning Ill have to leave those tear-stricken eyes
But traces of her will follow me through the day
Reminding me of mans best friend
Until my fingers turn the doorknob again
Back to main
