Preventing Sexual Harassment

A Training Manual for the Workplace
by Virginia A. Lathan

Sexual Harassment is illegal.  Businesses and Organizations are being sued for it.  It's also psychologically damaging and is toxic to a positive, productive workplace.  And, according to V.C. League, President of the former National Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates:  "Sexual Harassment is abusive.  It ranks right up there with all the other abusive behaviors individuals are subjected to by themselves and others.  Its effects can be as debilitating or demoralizing as drug abuse, child abuse, spousal abuse, elder abuse or alcohol abuse.  Sexual Harassment is a predatory behavior that must be abolished from our workplaces."

Preventing sexual harassment starts with knowing what it is and then informing  all those in the workplace of concrete steps they should take when confronted with it.  This book, "Preventing Sexual Harassment," was written with this aim in mind.  First it educates the reader by presenting factual information and easy to understand examples, then it provides checklists, training tools, and a sample company policy.  "Preventing Sexual Harassment" lays a foundation for stopping such predatory behavior in its tracks.
