Frequently Asked Questions
About:  The Deposition Handbook
A Guide to Help You Give a Winning Deposition

Q.   If  I represent myself, and want to depose my adversary,  does the book tell me how to do that?
A.   Even though the book acquaints one with the deposition procedure, because of legal codes governing the taking of depositions, it is not thorough enough to guide one in deposing his/her adversary.  It's best that you seek legal counsel if that's what you would like to do.

Q.   How dense and technical is the book?
A.   The book is about 100 pages, which includes a sample transcript.  It's not technical at all, rather it presents its information in an easy-to-understand way.  Although, it does contain  techniques that can be used in answering questions.

Q.   The rules for depositions vary from state to state.  Does the book have nationwide application?
A.   Yes.  Mainly because the information contained in the book is not overly technical or legal, that broadens its utility.

Q.   The subtitle of the book is "A Guide to Help You Give a Winning Deposition."  How does the book help do that?
A.   It familiarizes one with the process.  If you're familiar with the process, you're more relaxed and you will have had time to think out ahead of time what you may be confronted with.  As a result, your chances of performing better during the actual deposition are increased.  It also alerts you to some tricks, traps, and strategies some attorneys may use, and it points out some strategies you can use yourself.
