Police honcho Colin Sullivan embroiled in lawsuit
SIU cop implicated in graft scandal
APRIL 1--Colin Sullivan, the head of the elite Special Investigations Unit of the Massachusetts State Police, was sued today in civil court for bribery and influence peddling. According to the Massachusetts chapter of the Irish Anti-Defamation League, Sullivan is reputed to be on the payroll of local mob capo Costello. "Since Internal Affairs refused to air out this brazen corruption, we needed to take another route to get it done," IDLE president Seamus O'Shaughnessy said on the witness stand today. "We feel this is a black eye to the Irish community at large," O'Shaughnessy declared under oath. "A stab in the back like we haven't seen since Bill Cutting threw that cleaver at Monk McGinn, a blot on Irish pride not witnessed since Oliver Stone's Alexander." The trial is expected to continue through next week.
