Entry for September 10, 2006
Hi. Previously I thought I would make this blog somehow realted to my website, but it turns out I can't edit that site anymore - no time. So I've sought a new purpose for this blog. And there is no real description for it; I'm going to blog whatever comes to my mind.
A little bit of my self.
I go by the online name deostroll. In college people used to call me kampu. In school I had the name ever-ready. I am a lot of personalities embodied into one. But I don't show out all of that. A lot of people ask me what the hell is "deostroll" - its just a moniker name. I am the kind of person who thinks about life. Why are we here? What is purpose here? I have found answers for all those questions but they are not perfect answers. Yet I've researched to answer them. And I deem my finding interesting. But it is not true that everyone has to find it interesting. Some may even find it revolting. Mind you; I only mean peace.
I am also some one interested in computers. My love for computers began when I had a pc for my self. I used to discover a lot of things. It was an enlightening experience. I began learning a lot about many programming languages. Then I also used to a lot of research once I got an internet connection. My best experience with learning a language was with Visual Basic 6.0. Its a sophisticated development tool to design applications in the Windows platform. I appreciated the way VB was designed, and also I admire its capabilities which are vast.
While I learn porgramming languages on one side, I also try to keep my knowledge updated about "free software". It is a philosophy that says how we should rather share and use software in todays world. I search online for forums and discuss about things. Recently dealing with an issue regarding software patents. I learnt that software patents are bad for the cult of free software. This topic I hear is a topic of intense debate.
A huge relief
Getting back to the place where I work. Its a contact centre. People have views (inhibitions) about joining a contact centre. Well, I chose to ignore all that and get in. Myths like these seems to persist because we are inherently human beings all the time. But only something that is really ultimate can undo these myths. Lately I've inquired into the IT dept of my company. This is only because I took the initiative to inquire. Otherwise I would have known about this a long time later; it would have been late by then! So well I've asked people there about which courses I've to take and they've advised me on it. So now I am learning the dot net course. This I hope will better my chances of getting me into the IT dept.
