History:

Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Deona was born Deona Broyles, and her life has been anything but simple and boring.  When she was 3 1/2, she was diagnosed with Autism, and the city had, at the time, absolutely no services for children with this condition.  When she was 4, she moved from Nevada to California with her parents.  Also at that time, growing up with Autism in mainstream schools was not exactly commonplace, either.  When she turned 15 and was just starting high school, she moved from California to Missouri, living there collectively for 12 years.

She really got her start in writing when she wrote a poem for her English class assignment.  The poem was called "Lady of White Mist", about snow and winter.  After then, she wrote a couple of stories that never went past her house.  At one time, though, another poem of hers, "I Hear the Bagpipes Playing", was on display at a museum in Columbia, Missouri.  She graduated High School in 1994.

A year later, she began writing and posting fanfiction, first doing it from a computer lab in Truman State University, starting with a small fanfic for Final Fantasy III, called "Airships and Wedding Bells".  Due to writer's block that never went away, the story was discontinued in a few months.

In that same year, she met a man on a MUD, named Jock Lindholm and she fell in love with him.  Within the year, things happened, including the two of them marrying.  A year later, though, they divorced for personal reasons.  By her own preference, she kept her married name.

Since then, she has been very involved in numerous things, including publishing, founding with two others a Community Forum on Univision for Julio Iglesias and a writing number of fanfictions.  She is also a civil rights activist for people with disabilities and represents both the Emerald Center and her county on a state-wide self-advocacy council.

She currently lives on the East Coast with family.
