About Deodatus

It’s a family home to accommodate young travelers especially those who are students to minimize their expenditure but it is not limited to anyone therefore all are welcome regardless of your age, or race, or nationality or language.

Deodatus means ‘’gift of God’’, hence you are a gift of God to us and we would love to have you whenever you like to stay with us.

Rules (it’s part of the discipline life)

1. Smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs are totally forbidden.

2. You must be at home before 10 in the night exception to unavoidable situation.

3. Keep the place clean and hygienic especially when you use the bathroom.

4. Try to be as quite as possible in order not to disturb other guests.

How to find us

· 4 KM from the International and Domestic airport

· 6 KM from the Central Railway Station and Central Bus Station

· Cheapest transport mode is public bus, which can have a huge crowed always and little discomfort as well and auto rickshaw is another private transportation on meter based fare; minimum fare is 10 Rupees (US .25 cents, UK .15 pence, Euro .20 cents). If you are taking the auto, please ask the driver to run the meter and tell him that you will pay only as per the meter, but in any case they will ask for a little more, that is not big problem.

· However you will get a prepaid taxi (various cars) from the airport and central railway station.

Population

Kerala's population is 318.38 lakhs (31.838 millions) as per the latest 2001 Census,i.e. 3.1% of India's total population. Population deisnity is 819 per sq kms. Sex ratio is 1058 women for 1000 men.

Literacy

Kerala's literacy rate is 90.92%, of which male literacy rate is 94.2% and female literacy rate is 86.17%.

Physical Quality of Life Index (PQLI)

Kerala has had a commendable record in terms of the Physical Quality of Life Index. Indicators of PQLI like infant mortality (14%), female literacy (87%), and life expectancy at birth for males (69) and females (72), are well above all India levels. The major reason for this achievement is Kerala's focus on the service sector. About 37% of the total annual expenditure of the State is earmarked for health and education. Another reason for this is the existence of a larger network of health infrastructure with 961 primary health centres and 5094 sub centres.
