Glynhir Falls The date of this photo is unknown but is probably some time around the first world war. Glynhir is an old mansion and estate about two miles from Ammanford and the falls are on its land, just a hundred yards or so from Glynhir golf club. Glynhir mansion dates from the 17th century but its most famous owners were the DuBuissons, originally French Huguenots (ie Protestants) who fled religious persecution in France to settle in London in 1706. A later DuBuisson bought Glynhir in 1770 and it passed out of the family in 1921. Glynhir mansion is currently a hotel.

Overgrown kilns at Pistyll near Llandybie Just off a farm track towards Wern y Pistyll these overgrown lime kilns can be seen. The main arch is a passageway through to a quarry, lined with arched kiln bases. More arches appear on the outside and further red brick stacks have been built, most of which have fallen. Climbing atop the whole structure reveals only forest and no sign of any openings at the top of the kilns. Note that this is a completely different lime works and quarry to the Cilyrychen one at the adjacent square
