MOJAVE NATIONAL PRESERVE

Located just a stone's throw north and east of Los Angeles, lies the Mojave desert. Within this desert of 25,000 square miles, the Mojave National Preserve has been set aside for protection and recreational use. The preserve occupies about 1.6 million acres of diverse desert environment....from sand dunes to pinion forests. All pictures are from the National Park Service and U S Geological Survey.
