General characteristics of family child care home arrangements:

Licensed and regulated by state of Colorado
Care in a provider's own home
One provider independently caring for a group of children
Provider may have some training in child development
Group size determined by state regulation
Mixed-age group of children
Year-round schedule
Hours of operation suitable for working parents
Possible part-time schedule options
May be flexible regarding scheduling needs

Large Family Child Care Homes

Licensed and regulated by state of Colorado
Group size determined by state regulation
Same as Family Child Care Homes, except has a larger group size and requires one full-time assistant
