What is a Dental Hygienist?

   A Dental Hygienist is a dental health specialist whose primary concern is the maintenance of oral hygiene and the prevention of oral disease.  Hygienists provide preventitive, therapeutic, and educational services.

   There are a wide range of settings available for the practice of a Dental Hygienist.  Those settings include, but are not limited to, General Practices, Dental Public Health, Special Needs Clinics,Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and Periodontics.
