Sophomore forward Ben Marshall of the Zephyrs suffered a bruised kidney on a check from junior forward Nate Schmidt of the Crusaders near the end of the first period and did not play the rest of the game. Junior forward Jordan Palusky of St. Cloud Cathedral recorded a natural hat trick with the first three goals of the first period, at 2:28, 4:48, and 11:40, to propel the Crusaders to a 3-0 lead after one. Little Falls responded with three tallies in the second period and deadlocked the game when senior defenseman Izaak Berglund scored in the final minute, at 16:44. The third period was even and the score remained 3-3 until the final minute. At 16:38, senior forward Ben Hanowski of the Flyers ended his high school career in style as he fired in the game-winner. Hanowski finished his high school career with the all-time career points record of 405 points. Hanowski finished the season with the all-time single points record of 135 points.
