Defending Champ - Warroad.
Favorites - Warroad, Thief River Falls.

First Round:
Lake Of The Woods (12-13-1, #6 seed) shutout Bagley/Fosston (1-19-0, #11 seed) 9-0.
After a scoreless first period, Lake Of The Woods poured in six goals in the second period.  Sophomore goalie Alex Lyon and senior goalie Cody Carlson of the Bears combined on the shutout.

For Lake Of The Woods, senior forward Cody Hasbargen had 2 goals, 2 assists and junior forward Joncarlo Westerlund had 1 goal, 3 assists.
Goalies:  Lake Of The Woods - Lyon (first two periods) and Carlson (third period), Bagley/Fosston - junior Gavin Ross.

Park Rapids (15-8-3, #7 seed) defeated Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (2-19-0, #10 seed) 8-2.
Park Rapids exploded for seven goals in the second period.
The Panthers outshot Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 28-10.
For Park Rapids, junior forward Tucker Coborn had 3 goals, 1 assist.
For Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, senior forwar Jake Paulson and junior forward Darrin Karnitz each had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Park Rapids - senior Brady Yrjo, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley - sophomore Micah Bank.

Kittson Central (7-16-1, #9 seed) defeated Red Lake Falls (12-12-1, #8 seed) 5-4.
Red Lake Falls led 2-0 after one period and 3-2 after two; but, Kittson Central gained control with a three goals outburst at the beginning of the third period.  Senior defenseman Nick Lindegard of the Wolfpack evened the contest, 3-3, with a tally only :13 into the period.  Junior forward Craig Lindegard of Kittson Central followed with a goal, at 2:34, and senior forward Kellen Albrecht scored, at 4:26, to propel the Wolfpack to a 5-3 advantage.  The Eagles tried to come back during the rest of the third period, outshooting Kittson Central, 14-7.  Freshman defenseman Garrett Schmitz of Red Lake Falls netted a power play goal, at 9:51; however, Kittson Central was able to hold off the Eagles the rest of the way.

For Kittson Central, Nick Lindegard had 1 goal, 4 assists, Craig Lindegard had 2 goals, 2 assists, and  Albrecht had 2 goals, 1 assist.
For Red Lake Falls, senior forward Luke Olsen had 1 goal, 1 assist.
Goalies:  Kittson Central - junior Alex Chaput, Red Lake Falls - junior Zach Page.

Quarterfinals:
Warroad (24-2-0, #1 seed) shutout Kittson Central (7-17-1, #9 seed) 11-0.
Warroad led 9-0 after two periods.  Senior goalie Jason Goldsmith and junior goalie Shawn Storey teamed up for the shutout.
The Warriors outshot Kittson Central 37-7.
For Warroad, junior forward Brock Nelson had 3 goals, 2 assists and senior forward Dane Shaugabay had 3 goals, 1 assist.
Goalies:  Warroad - Goldsmith and Storey, Kittson Central - junior Alex Chaput.

Thief River Falls (20-4-2, #2 seed) defeated Park Rapids (15-9-3, #7 seed) 5-2.
Thief River Falls scored three goals in the first period and led 4-1 after two.
The Prowlers outshot Park Rapids 35-23.
For Thief River Falls, senior forward Lucan Dillon had 2 goals, 1 assist.
For Park Rapids, freshman forward Sam Coborn had 1 goal, 1 assist and junior forward Tucker Coborn had 2 assists.
Goalies:  Thief River Falls - junior Zane Gothberg, Park Rapids - senior Brady Yrjo.

Bemidji (14-11-2, #3 seed) defeated Lake Of The Woods (12-14-1, #6 seed) 3-2.
Bemidji carried the play in the first two periods but found themselves on the short end of a 2-1 score after two.  In the third period, the Lumberjacks finally tied the game, 2-2, when junior forward Jesse Nemgar scored, at 11:22.  It was still 2-2 entering the final minute of play; but, sophomore forward Max Hazelton of Bemidji took a feed and drove in the game-winner, at 16:14.  Sophomore goalie Alex Lyon of Lake Of The Woods turned in a fine performance with 36 saves.

For Bemidji, Nemgar, Hazelton, and junior forward Luke Burns each had 1 goal.
For Lake Of The Woods, junior forward Shea Pepera had 2 goals and junior forward Joncarlo Westerlund had 2 assists.
Goalies:  Bemidji - senior Derek Dudgeon, Lake Of The Woods - Lyon.

Crookston (13-12-0, #4 seed) defeated East Grand Forks (9-16-1, #5 seed) 4-3.
Crookston tallied twice in the first period and still led 2-1 after two periods.  In the third period, East Grand Forks notched two goals in the first half of the period to surge to a 3-2 advantage; however, the Pirates answered with a rebound from junior forward Zach Mercil, at 10:34, and a tally from junior forward Morgan Terpstra, at 12:05, to regain the lead, 4-3.  The Green Wave pulled their goalie in the final minute but did not have any offensive chances.
Crookston outshot East Grand Forks 34-33.
For Crookston, Mercil had 1 goal, 1 assist and senior forward Brady Landlois had 2 assists.
For East Grand Forks, junior forwards Jake Useldinger and Casey Ristau along with senior forward Justin Kahl each had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Crookston - senior Matt Grove, East Grand Forks - senior Kyle Storbakken.


Semifinals:
Warroad (25-2-0, #1 seed) defeated Crookston (13-13-0, #4 seed) 9-1.
Warroad dominated from the outset, outshooting Crookston 20-2 in the first period and recording three goals.  The Warriors notched four goals in the second period for a 7-0 bulge after two.

For Warroad, junior forward Brock Nelson had 2 goals, 2 assists, sophomore defenseman Nick Stoskopf had 2 goals 1 assist, and senior forwards Dane Shaugabay and Chris Sylvester each had 1 goal, 2 assists.
For Crookston, senior forward Brady Langlois had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Warroad - senior Jason Goldsmith, Crookston - senior Matt Grove (most of the game) and junior Nick Biermaier (in at 8:30 of third period).

Thief River Falls (21-4-2, #2 seed) defeated Bemidji (14-12-2, #3 seed) 6-1.
Thief River Falls jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period with the aid of two goals from senior forward Kent Peterson.  The teams traded goals in the second period before the Prowlers tacked on two early third period tallies.

For Thief River Falls, Peterson had 3 goals, 2 assists, senior forward Lucas Dillon had 1 goal, 3 assists, and junior defenseman Jacob Malwitz had 1 goal, 2 assists.
For Bemidji, junior forward Jesse Nemgar had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Thief River Falls - junior Zane Gothberg, Bemidji - senior Derek Dudgeon.


Final:
Warroad (26-2-0, #1 seed) defeated Thief River Falls (21-5-2, #2 seed) 3-2.
Warroad scored first, on a power play, when senior defenseman Michael Pieper took a shot that deflected in off junior forward Brett Hebel, at 4:05.  The Warriors controlled the first period; however, as time was running out, senior forward Kent Peterson of Thief River Falls netted a goal, at 16:58, for a 1-1 tie after one.  The Warriors tallied the only goal of the second period when Nick Stoskopf took a shot that just trickled in, at 6:32.  In the third period, the Prowlers came back again as junior forward Brady Johnson knocked in a rebound, at 5:14, to knot the game, 2-2.  The game remained tied until late in the period; however, at 15:07, junior forward Brock Nelson of Warroad tipped in a rebound at the left post that gave the Warriors the victory.

For Thief River Falls, Peterson and Johnson each had 1 goal.
