Defending Champ - Duluth Marshall.
Favorites - Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, Hibbing/Chisholm, International Falls.

First Round:
Two Harbors (8-16-2, #7 seed) defeated Ely/Babbitt-Embarrass/Tower-Soudan (7-18-0, #10 seed) 9-5.
Two Harbors tallied the first four goals of the game enroute to a 5-2 advantage after one period.
The Agates outshot Ely/Babbitt-Embarrass/Tower-Soudan 38-24.
For Two Harbors, junior forward Scott Comrie had 3 goals, 4 assists and senior forward Casey Eckman had 2 goals, 1 assist.
For Ely/Babbitt-Embarrass/Tower-Soudan - junior forward Sam Swanson had 2 goals, senior defensemaen Zach Moser and Tyler Peterson each had 1 goal, 1 assist, and senior forward Mike Skelton had 2 assists.
Goalies:  Two Harbors - junior Aaron Lee, Ely/Babbitt-Embarrass/Tower-Soudan - senior Ryan Puzel.

Silver Bay (9-14-2, #9 seed) defeated Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East (8-18-0, #8 seed) 5-4 in overtime.

Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East outshot Silver Bay 41-16 in the first two periods; however, the Mariners stayed in the game, trailing only 3-2 after two.  Silver Bay showed more offense in the third period; but, the Golden Bears gained a 4-2 advantage after a goal from sophomore forward Robbie Kaldahl, at 10:02.  A minute later, Silver Bay responded with a tally from senior forward Tanner Viola, at 11:02; then, at 13:52, senior defenseman Urban Demo of the Mariners logged a goal to even the contest, 4-4.  Only 1:15 into overtime, sophomore forward Jesper Lingemyr of Silver Bay scored on a wraparound for the game-winner.
Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East outshot Silver Bay 49-31.
For Silver Bay, Lingemyr and Viola each had 2 goals and junior forward Hunter Panetti had 2 assists.
For Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East, Kaldahl had 2 goals, 1 assist, sophomore forward Dalton Johnson had 1 goal, 2 assists, and sophomore forward Cole Axelson had 3 assists.
Goalies:  Silver Bay - sophomore Neill Kelly, Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East - sophomore Logan Koskela.

Quarterfinals:
Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl (21-5-0, #1 seed) shutout Silver Bay (9-15-2, #9 seed) 5-0.
Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl notched four goals in the second period for a 5-0 advantage after two.  Senior goalie Will Lustig of the Blue Devils collected the shutout.

Hibbing/Chisholm (15-9-1, #2 seed) shutout Two Harbors (8-17-2, #7 seed) 6-0.
Hibbing/Chisholm scored four goals in a six minute span in the second period.  Sophomore goalie Nathan Tromp of the Bluejackets recorded the shutout.

For Hibbing/Chisholm, senior forward Aaron Jamnick had 1 goal, 2 assist and senior forward Marcus Bugliosi had 2 goals.

International Falls (17-7-2, #3 seed) shutout Greenway (4-22-0, #6 seed) 7-0.
International Falls led 4-0 after two periods.  Sophomore goalie Glenn Walls of the Broncos logged the shutout.
International Falls outshot Greenway 36-11.
For International Falls - senior forward Daniel Eldien had 2 goals, 1 assist and junior forward Jon McDonald had 1 goal, 2 assists.
Goalies:  International Falls - Walls, Greenway - freshman Erikur Arnason.

Duluth Marshall (15-10-1, #4 seed)  defeated Duluth Central (9-15-2, #5 seed) 9-1.
Duluth Marshall netted three goals in each period.
The Hilltoppers outshot Duluth Central 39-15.
For Duluth Marshall, senior forward Pat Mahoney had 2 goals, 2 assists, senior forward Zach Mausolf had 1 goal, 3 assists, and senior forward Joe Kozlak had 1 goal, 2 assists.
For Duluth Central, sophomore forward Ben Wrazidlo had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Duluth Marshall - senior Willie Paul, Duluth Central senior Matt Erickson.

Semifinals:
Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl (22-5-0, #1 seed) defeated Duluth Marshall (15-11-1, #4 seed) 4-3.
After a scoreless first period, Duluth Marshall garnered 2-1 lead after two.  Virginia/Mountain Iron-Bihl came back to net the first three goals of the third period to forge a 4-2 advantage.  After a roughing incident in front of the Duluth Marshall goalie in which penalties were accessed to both teams, senior defenseman Derek Stauber of the Hilltoppers scored, at 11:28, to cut the margin to 4-3; however, the Blue Devils held Duluth Marshall in check the rest of the way.

For Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, sophomore forward Garrett Hendrickson had 1 goal, 1 assist and senior forward Chris Westin had 2 assists.
For Duluth Marshall, senior forward Joe Kozlak had 3 assists and Stabuer had 2 goals.

Hibbing/Chisholm (16-9-1, #2 seed) defeated International Falls (17-8-2, #3 seed) 4-2.
Hibbing/Chisholm erupted for three goals, the first two from senior forward Aaron Jamnick, in about three minutes, late in the first period, to take a 3-0 lead after one.  International Falls logged the lone goal of the second period; however, when junior defenseman Eric Laliberte of the Bluejackets tallied only 1:46 into the third period, Hibbing/Chisholm regained a three-goal advantage.

For Hibbing/Chisholm, Jamnick had 2 goals, 1 assist, senior forward Ryan Hanegmon had 1 goal,
1 assist, and sophomore defenseman Nick DeCenzo had 2 assists.
For International Falls, junior goalie Will Corrin and junior forward Jon McDonald each had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Hibbing/Chisholm - sophomore Nathan Tromp, International Falls - sophomore Glenn Walls.


Final:
Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl (23-5-0, #1 seed) defeated Hibbing/Chisholm (16-10-1, #2 seed) 3-1.
The teams traded power play goals in the first period for a 1-1 tie after one.  Junior forward Andrew Judnick of Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl scored from just outside the crease with the man-advantage at 10:19.  Hibbing/Chisholm followed with a rebound from senior forward Aaron Jamnick on a power play, at 12:47.  In the second period, the Blue Devils notched a pair of power play tallies to take command.
Junior defenseman Jordan Krebsbach of Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl fired in a shot from the top of the circle on a power play, at 7:29; and, senior forward Chris Westin scored at 15:03 to give the Blue Devils a 3-1 edge.  In the third period, Hibbing/Chisholm outshot the Blue Devils 8-4; but, Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl would not relinquish a goal.
Shots were even 22-22.
For Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, Judnick had 1 goal, 1 assist and sophomore forward Garrett Hendrickson had 2 assists.
For Hibbing/Chisholm, Jamnick had 1 goal.
