| SELECT 16 HOCKEY FESTIVAL June 26-July 1, 2005 Nico Sacchetti, a freshman last season at Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, led all scorers with 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) at the Select 16 Hockey Festival in Rochester, New York. Kent Patterson, of Blake, was one of the top goalies at the festival. Team Gold (4-1-1) won the National Division and Team Royal and Team Maroon (4-2-0) tied for the top spot in the American Divisioin. Each team in the National Division played each team in the American Division. Each game at the Festival featured two 23 minute periods. Team Royal was #1 in scoring at the Festival with 28 goals and Team Gold was #1 in defense allowing 14 goals. Patterson was one of the two goalies for Team Gold. Anthony DeCenzo, of Hibbing, Mike Hoeffel, of Hill-Murray, and Nick Jaskowiak, of Benilde-St. Margaret's all netted six points. Six Minnesotans were selected for the 20-player roster of the Under-17 Select Team - goalies Reid Ellingson and Kent Patterson, defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forwards Mike Hoeffel, Jake Johnson, and Patrick White. The Under-17 Select Team will play in the 2005 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, August 13-18, in Switzerland.
