Detriot Catholic Central (19-6-3, Region 4) defeated Ann Arbor Pioneer (Region 3) 6-2.
Highland-Milford (20-4-3, Region 6) defeated Port Huron Northern (Region 5) 5-4
in two overtimes.
Marquette (19-5-3, Region 8) defeated Clarkston (Region 7) 2-1
in overime.

Detriot Catholic Central (20-6-3, Region 4) defeated East Kentwood (19-9-1, Region 1) 2-1.
Dan Barczuk of Detroit Catholic Central scored the lone goal of the first period off a one-timer at 4:54 to give the Shamrocks a 1-0 lead after one.  The second period was even, defensive, and scoreless.  East Kentwood tried to come back in the third period, outshooting Detroit Catholic Central 12-7; however, the Shamrocks added to their lead with a slap shot from just inside the blue line by senior forward Jimmy Burns at 6:01. Adam Pilecki of East Kentwood put in a loose puck from close range at 8:07 to cut the lead to 2-1, but that's as close as East Kentwood could get.  East Kentwood outshot Detroit Catholic Central 21-19.  For Detroit Catholic Central, Barczuk and Burns each had 1 goal.  For East Kentwood, Pilecki had 1 goal.  Goalies:  Detroit Catholic Central - John Garza, East Kentwood - Sean Pero.
Marquette (20-5-3, Region 8) defeated Highland-Milford (21-4-3, Region 6) 3-1.
Marquette led 1-0 after one period after a goal from junior forward Dan Desonia at 14:09.  At 4:27 of the second period, Phil Chartier of the Redman notched a power play tally for a 2-0 lead.  Highland-Milford responded with a goal from Jake Opalko at 9:13 to make it a 2-1 game after two.  Midway through the third period, at 8:48, Jeff Lazeren of Marquette added an insurance goal while the Redman continued their steady defense and goaltending.  Marquette outshot Highland-Milford 27-15.  For Marquette, junior defenseman Scott Koski had 2 assists.  For Highland-Milford, Opalko had 1 goal.  Goalies:  Marquette - junior Caleb Downs, Highland-Milford - Tony Whiteman.

Marquette (21-5-3, Region 8) defeated Detriot Catholic Central (20-7-3, Region 4) 3-2
.
Marquette junior goalie Caleb Downs was the star of the game with 30 save as the Redmen ended Detroit Catholic Central's five year reign as champions of Michigan's top class.  The Shamrocks were Division 1 champs 2000-2003 and Class A champs in 1999.  Detroit Catholic Central outshot Marquette 9-4 in the first period, but the Redman logged the only goal of the period when junior forward Brad Olson scored on a power play, at 11:20, when his shot deflected off a Detroit Catholic Central player.  In the second period, the Shamrocks outshot Marquette 13-4 as the game went back and forth.  Detroit Catholic Central tied the contest, 1-1, as senior Dave McGrorty scored only :45 into the period.  The Redmen retook the lead off a rebound from junior forward Geoff Holloway at 4:56; however, the Shamrocks retaliated at 8:39 with a power play tally from senior forward Travis Hamway.  The third period was more even, but Detroit Catholic Central still outshot Marquette 10-7.  The game remained deadlocked at 2-2 until the Shamrocks received two successive penalties.  Near the end of the second power play, at 10:34, senior forward Curt Aho of the Redman put in a rebound on the man-advantage to give Marquette a 3-2 lead.  The Redmen held on for the final four minutes for the victory.  Detroit Catholic Central outshot Marquette 32-15.  For Marquette, Phil Chartier had 2 assists.  For Detroit Catholic Central, McGrorty and Hamway each had 1 goal.  Goalies:  Marquette - Downs, Detroit Catholic Central - senior Andrew Godoshian.

Saginaw Heritage (23-3-2, Region 16) defeated Davison (Region 15) 3-2.

Trenton (17-9-2, Region 14) defeated Birmingham Brother Rice (Region 13) 3-1

Muskegon Mona Shores (22-6-1, Region 9) defeated Saginaw Heritage (24-3-2, Region 16) 4-1
.
Junior forward Justin Abdelkader of Muskegon Mona Shores scored a goal in each of  the first two periods to propel the Sailors to a 2-1 lead after two.  Sophomore forward Andrew Rowe gave Muskegon Mona Shores a two-goal lead with a tally at 3:02 of the third period.  The scored stayed 3-1 until Saginaw Heritage pulled their goalie in the final minute, and senior forward Jacob Zimmer of the Sailors added an empty net tally at 14:43.  Shots were even 19-19.  For Muskegon Mona Shores, Abdelkader had 2 goals and Rowe had 1 goal, 1 assist.  For Saginaw Heritage, Brandon Steffek had 1 goal.  Goalies:  Muskegon Mona Shores - sophomore Nick Green, Saginaw Heritage - Darrin Parker.

Trenton (18-9-2, Region 14) defeated Northville (20-6-3, Region 12) 5-3.
Trenton notched a goal in the first period and two in the second for a 3-0 lead after two periods.  Sophomore forward Jacob Schering of the Trojans tallied at 2:35 of the third period giving Trenton a comfortable 4-0 lead.  Northville came back to make the game interesting.  The Mustangs got back-to-back goals in :22 from Nick Guerro and Joe Vitale, at 7:30 and 7:52, to cut the deficit to 4-2; however, senior Jon Meldau of the Trojans scored at 10:27 to give Trenton a three-goal lead, 5-2.  Trenton outshot Northville 29-21.  For Trenton, junior forward Chris Sullivan had 1 goal, 1 assist and Andy Legut had 2 assists.  For Northville, Joe Vitale and Troy Engellund each had 1 goal, 1 assists and Jake Vitale had 2 assists.  Goalies:  Trenton - Neal Callahan, Northville - Jimmy Gates.

Trenton (19-9-2) defeated Muskegon Mona Shores (22-7-1) 4-3.
Trenton picked up their second consecutive Division 2 championship.  Muskegon Mona Shores dominated in the first period, outshot Trenton 15-3, and took a 2-1 lead.  The second period also started out well for the Sailors.  After Muskegon Mona Shores skated off a penalty, senior forward Jacob Zimmer scored at 5:07 to give the Sailors a 3-1 advantage; however, the game turned around after that.  Only :06 later, at 5:13, sophomore forward Jacob Schering of Trenton scored to bring the Trojans back to within a goal, 3-2.  The quick come back created a spark that ignited Trenton.  Several seconds later, Muskegon Mona Shores picked up a penalty; and, although the Trojans did not score on the power play, Trenton started to carry the action.  A minute after the power play expired, the Trojans tied the game, 3-3, when Jon Pason scored at 8:20.  :33 later, the Sailors picked up another penalty that put them on the defensive for another two minutes.  A little more than a minute after the power play, Pason scored the third straight goal for the Trojans on a high wrist shot from in front of the crease, at 12:11, to put Trenton in the lead, 4-3.  The Trojans outshot Muskegon Mona Shores 11-10 in the second period.  In the third period, the Trenton defense completely shut down the Sailors.  The Trojans outshot Muskegon Mona Shores 8-1 in the period and cruised to the championship victory.  Muskegon Mona Shores outshot Trenton 26-22.  For Trenton, Pason had 2 goals, Schering had 1 goal, 1 assist, and Brad Lesko had 2 assists.  For Muskegon Mona Shores, sophomore forwards Andrew Rowe and Travis Paeth each had 1 goal, 1 assist.  Goalies:  Trenton - Neal Callahan, Muskegon Mona Shores - sophomore Nick Green.


Division 3  (53 schools)

Favorites - Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood.

Gaylord (18-11-0, Region 18) defeated Flint Powers Catholic (23-4-2, Region 20) 5-4.
Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood (20-7-2, Region 22) defeated Dearborn Divine Child (16-10-3, Region 23) 5-3.

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood (21-7-2, Region 22) defeated Gaylord (18-12-0, Region 18) 5-2.
Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood won the Division 3 championship in 2000 and 2001.
The teams were tied 2-2 after two periods, but Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood came through with three goals in the third period.  Junior forward Chase Langlais of the Cranes scored at 2:49 to put Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood in the lead, 3-2, and senior forward Kyle McNealy netted a power play goal at 6:52.  Chase Langlais tacked on an empty net goal at 14:41.  Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood outshot Gaylord 33-24.  For Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood, Chase Langlais had 2 goals, 1 assist and McNealy had 1 goal, 1 assist.  For Gaylord, senior Tom Pratt had 1 goal, 1 assist.  Goalies:  Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood - senior Andy Chima, Gaylord - junior Greg Long.
