Senior defenseman Mike Devin of Catholic Memorial scored power play goals in each of the first two periods on slap shots from the blueline to give the Knights a 2-0 lead after two. In the third period, Arlington Catholic cut the advantage to 2-1 on a power play tally from senior Michael Adams at 5:21. Catholic Memorial held on until the final minute; and, when the Cougars pulled their goalie, senior forward Matt Masucci notched an empty net goal with 14:41. Boston College High took an early 1-0 lead when junior forward Jeff Sullivan scored on a power play at 2:51 of the first period; but, that would be the only goal until late in the third period. Both teams had several good scoring chances in each period; however, the goaltenders were able to keep the margin at 1-0. In the third period, Catholic Memorial still trailed 1-0 as the time was winding down: so, the Knights pulled their goalie at 13:40. Moments later, senior forward Joe Capuano of the Eagles picked up the puck in the Boston College High zone, manuevered his way the length of the ice through Catholic Memorial defenders, and fired the puck into the empty net to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage. Catholic Memorial continued to attack 6-on-5 for the rest of the game and senior forward Matt Masucci of the Knights scored from the slot, at 14:26, to bring Catholic Memorial back within a goal, 2-1. The Knights put on come pressure in the final :30; however, Boston College High did not yield the tying goal. Boston College High had 24 shots on goal.
