There was no scoring in the second period before the Cougars gained a 3-2 edge after a goal from senior defenseman Kyle Stutz at 5:26 of the third period. Later in the period, junior defenseman Mitch Sand of Andover found the back of the net, at 11:14. to even the game, 3-3. In overtime, Centennial outshot the Huskies but could not score. Centennial outshot Andover 48-30. For Andover, junior forward Cal Decowski had 2 assists. For Centennial, Stutz had 2 goals and senior forward Tyler Pitlick had 2 assists. Bloomington Jefferson 3 Eagan 0 23-1-0 15-8-1 Bloomington Jefferson notched a power play goal in the first period and two tallies in the second period including another power play marker. Senior goalie Casey O'Connor of the Jaguars completed the shutout in the final period. Bloomington Jefferson outshot Eagan 28-22. For Bloomington Jefferson, junior defenseman Joe Faust had 1 goal, 1 assist. Goalies: Bloomington Jefferson - O'Connor, Eagan - senior Trent Caspar. Little Falls 9 St. Cloud Apollo 1 25-0-0 4-19-2 Senior forward Ben Hanowski of Little Falls set a new career points record of 380 points with 2 goals, 1 assist against St. Cloud Apollo. The new mark passed the previous record of 378 points set by Johnny Pohl of Red Wing from the 1994-95 season through the 1997-98 season. Pohl had 145 goals, 233 assists, 378 points in 111 games. Hanowski has 180 goals, 200 assists, 380 points in 111 games. Hanowski will continue to add to his record with any points in upcoming tournament games. Hanowski entered the contest against St. Cloud Apollo with 377 points, trailing Pohl by one. Little Falls dominated the game, outshooting the Eagles 20-8 in the first period; however, St. Cloud Apollo kept Hanowski off the scoreboard in the period as the game was tied, 1-1 after one. Senior defenseman Izaak Berglund of the Flyers opened the second period with a tally at 0:34. Four minutes later, Little Falls picked up two penalties to give St. Cloud Apollo a 5-on-3 power play; however, Hanowski gathered up a loose puck in the neutral zone, drove in, and fired a shot off the pipe that deflected off the goalie and trickled into the net for a shorthanded goal, at 4:53, to tie the record of 378 points. Senior forward Ben Nelson of Little Falls scored another shorthanded goal :05 later, at 4:58, as the Flyers started to pull away with a 4-1 margin. About midway through the period, St. Cloud Apollo was whistled for back-to-back penalties, giving Little Falls a 5-on-3 advantage, an excellent chance for Hanowski to break the record. The Eagles killed off the first penalty; but, just before the second penalty ended, Hanowski picked up a rebound after a scramble by the circle and wristed a high shot into the upper corner net for a power play goal, breaking the career points record with his 379th point. Later in the period, the Flyers added a pair of goals and Hanowski recorded an assist on the second goal to increase the record to 380 points. Little Falls complete an undefeated regular season with a 25-0-0 record, the only unbeaten team in Minnesota. Little Falls outshot St. Cloud Apollo 52-21. For Little Falls, Hanowski had 2 goals, 1 assist, senior forward Peter Suska had 2 goals, and Nelson had 1 goal, 1 assist. For St. Cloud Apollo, junior defenseman Brandon Karnik had 1 goal. Wayzata 4 Hopkins 3 15-8-1 14-9-1 It was all Wayzata in the first period as the Trojans outshot Hopkins 15-4 and netted two goals. Wayzata added a pair of tallies in the second period to lead 4-0 after two. The Royals came back in the third period with three goals to pull within 4-3 at 14:58; however, Wayzata held Hopkins the rest of the way. Wayzata outshot Hopkins 32-28. For Wayzata, junior forward Scott Holm and senior forward Kevin Blackley each had 1 goal, 1 assist. For Hopkins, senior defenseman Tom Plotkin had 1 goal, 1 assist. Goalies: Wayzata - senior Ty Simcoe, Hopkins - junior Alex Fons. Woodbury 3 White Bear Lake 2 OT 20-3-2 13-10-2 Woodbury scored a goal at the end of the first period plus a shorthanded tally midway through the second period to take a 2-0 lead. White Bear Lake came back with a goal later in the second period and deadlocked the game midway through the third period. The overtime was all Woodbury. The Royals outshot the Bears 7-1 in overtime and finally came up with the game-winner when junior forward Tyler Nowicki tallied at 7:39. Woodbury outshot White Bear Lake 26-22. For Woodbury, Nowicki had 2 goals, 1 assist and senior forward Tony Pittman had 1 goal, 1 assist.
