Academy Of Holy Angels tallied two goals in the first period and maintained that advantage through the second period.  In the third period, Ryan Reilly of the Stars scored, at 5:15, to put Academy Of Holy Angels on top, 3-0.  The only thing Benilde-St. Margaret's could muster was a late power play goal.

Blaine scored the only two goals of the first period for a 2-0 lead after one; however, Centennial responded with the only two goals of the second period to knot the score, 2-2, after two.  The third period was even; and, Centennial got an early break when senior forward Dave Schreiner scored, at 1:29, to give the Cougars a 3-2 edge.  Centennial held that lead the rest of the way.

Cretin-Derham Hall 5 White Bear Lake 2

Cretin-Derham Hall logged the first two goals of the game; but, White Bear Lake came back with a pair of tallies to deadlock the game, 2-2, after two.  The Raiders broke out to control the third period and scored three straight goals to make the difference.

The play was fairly even; but Minnetonka took command on the scoreboard.  The Skippers notched two goals in the first period and three in the second to lead 5-0 after two.

Richfield 3 Hill-Murray 2

Hill-Murray carried the play for most of the game; however, Richfield scored twice in the second period plus a power play goal midway through the third period to gain a 3-1 advantage.  Senior forward Tyler Zepeda of Hill-Murray cut the lead to 3-2 with a tally at 9:58; but, that's as close as the Pioneers would get.

For Richfield, senior forward Bryan Scanlon had 1 goal, 1 assist and senior forward Tony Stellon had 2 assists.
For Hill-Murray, Zepeda and sophomore forward Kevin Becker each had 1 goal.

Rochester Mayo 5 Albert Lea 2

Coach Lorne Grosso of Rochester Mayo became the fifth high school hockey coach to record 600 victories.  Coach Roy Nystrom of Albert Lea recorded his 600th win only four days ago, on Feb. 10.
The winningest coach of all-time is Bill Belisle, of Woonsocket Mt. St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island with 806 career wins, followed by Edward Burns, of Arlington, Mass. with 695 career wins, and Willard Ikola, of Edina High School with 616, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations record book.  Grosso in his 42nd year as head coach of Rochester Mayo and is the second coach in Minnesota, along with Ikola, to record 600 victories.  Nystrom has 506 wins in Minnesota plus 94 in North Dakota.
Senior forward Alex Whitney of Rochester Mayo scored twice in the first period and the Spartans added two more tallies in the second period to lead 4-1 after two.  Whitney had a huge game by getting in on the scoring of each goal.

For Rochester Mayo, Whitney had 2 goals, 3 assists, senior forward Brad Fisher had 1 goal, 3 assists, and senior forward Tom Alexander had 2 goals, 3 assists.
For Albert Lea, senior forward Tyler Prihoda had 1 goal, 1 assist.

Roseville 3 Woodbury 2  OT

This was a close game all the way with good goaltending.  Woodbury led 2-1 after two periods; but, Roseville knotted the game with a tally midway throught the third period.  The overtime was almost over and it looked like the game would end in a tie; however, senior forward Joe Effinger of the Raiders found the back of the net just before time expired, at 7:58.

For Roseville, Effinger had 1 goal, 2 assists and senior forward Josh Dishop had 2 assists.
For Woodbury, junior forwards Connor Delaney and Max Gaede each had 1 goal.
Goalies:  Roseville - senior Ben Podobinski, Woodbury - junior Mike Ness.

Tartan 3 Mahtomedi 1
15-7-1    16-6-1
This game featured plenty of offensive chances.  Tartan outshot Mahtomedi 17-12 in the first period and put up early back-to-back goals.  The Zephrys tallied the lone goal of the middle period to make it a 2-1 contest.  The third period included 35 shots on goal alone with Mahtomedi outshooting the Titans 19-16.  Despite all the shots on net, the only tally came from senior forward Ryan Abrahamson of Tartan, at 12:02, to give the Titans a little breathing room with a 3-1 margin.

For Mahtomedi, senior forward Brian Houdek had 1 goal.
