The teams were tied, 2-2, after two periods. In the third period, senior forward Tyler Prihoda of the Tigers chalked up a goal, at 5:25, to give Albert Lea a 2-1 edge. That score held for almost ten minutes until junior defenseman Casey Marka of the Tigers tallied giving the Tigers a 3-1 advantage. Rochester Lourdes retaliated, :40 later, when senior forward Cole Peterson scored to close the margin to 3-2; but, that's as close as the Eagles would get. Rochester Lourdes outshot Albert Lea 36-19. In the third period, Moorhead got two early power play goals from senior forward Trent Johnson to pull into a 3-2 lead. At 13:46, junior defenseman Jeff Pauluk of Jaguars logged a power play tally to knot the contest, 3-3. At the end of regulation, the Spuds picked up a two penalties that gave Bloomington Jefferson a 5-on-3 advantage in overtime. At 1:20 of overtime, junior defenseman Joe Faust of the Jaguars drove home the game-winner on the power play to keep Bloomington Jefferson unbeaten. The Jaguars outshot Moorhead 31-28. Blaine came back in the third period and pared the margin down to 4-3 with back-to-back goals at 11:00 and 11:19. The Elks held on until the final minute when the Bengals pulled their goalie; however, junior forward Chad Hennum of Elk River/Zimmerman hit the empty net, at 16:53, to finish the scoring. Blaine outshot Elk River/Zimmerman 30-22. For Elk River/Zimmerman, Hennum had 3 goals and junior forward Ben Jaremko had 1 goal, 1 assist. Hopkins 2 Minnetonka 1 OT 13-7-1 15-6-0 Junior forward Archie Skalbeck of Hopkins netted the lone goal of the first period. There was no scoring in the second period with the Royals having a slight advantage due to four penalties on Minnetonka in the period versus one against Hopkins. In the third period, the Skippers forced the action a bit more; but, Hopkins held their 1-0 edge through most of the period. Finally, at 11:05, sophomore forward Derek Frawley of Minnetonka scored to tie the game, 1-1. In overtime, the Royals picked up a penalty, at 0:52, but kept the Skippers off the scoreboard. Hopkins was whistled for another penalty, at 2:51; however, the man-advantage was evened out when Minnetonka got a slashing call, at 3:27. There was 4-on-4 play for only :20 as freshman forward Travis Boyd of the Royals notched the game-winner at 3:47. Minnetonka outshot Hopkins 32-29. The Crimson led 4-2 entering the final minute of regulation but picked up a penalty that gave Centennial an advantage; however, senior forward Josh Gross of Maple Grove notced a shorthanded goal that put the game away. Maple Grove outshot Centennial 28-22. For Maple Grove, sophomore forward Dan Carlson had 2 goals and junior forward Alec Horton ahd senior forward Isaac Sinz each had 2 assists.
