Hockey Day in Minnesota

Blaine 4 Centennial 4  OT (tie)

Centennial scored all three goals of the second period to take a 4-2 lead after two.  Blaine dominated the third period, outshooting the Cougars 17-4, and came back with two tallies to tie the game, 4-4, on a goal from sophomore forward Nick Bjugstad, at 15:51.  The overtime was close with no scoring.

Breck opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period; but, Rochestger Lourdes stormed back with three goals in the first half of the second period to claim a 3-2 edge.  The Mustangs retaliated with a pair of tallies in the second half of the period to regain a 4-3 advantage after two.  The third period was close; and, Breck got an insurance goal when junior forward Riley Borer scored at 14:28.
Rochester Lourdes outshot Breck 31-22.
For Breck, senior forward Joe Rehkamp had 1 goal, 3 assist and Borer had 2 goals.
For Rochester Lourdes, senior forward Tyler Voigt had 2 goals, 1 assist.

Woodbury forced the action for most of the game; but Forest Lake netted two goals in the second period to knot the game, 2-2, after two.  After no scoring in the third period, the Royals outshot the Rangers 7-2 in overtime but could not score.

For Forest Lake, senior forward Kyle Young and junior forward Ryan Suess each had 1 goal.
For Woodbury, sophomore forward Christian Turner and junior defenseman Mike Mezzano each had 1 goal.

Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl scored the lone goal of the first period; however, Hibbing/Chisholm notched four straight goals, two in the second and two in the third, to take a 4-1 advantage when senior forward Aaron Jamnick tallied at 9:04.  The Blue Devils added a late goal to complete the scoring.

MInnetonka led 1-0 after one period and 2-1 after two.  In a defensive third period, junior forward Max Gardiner of the Skippers added another insurance goal at 9:05.
Minnteonka outshot Moorhead 24-20.
For Minnetonka, junior defenseman Andrew Prochno had 2 assists.
For Moorhead, junior forward Quinn Buckellew had 1 goal.

South St. Paul 1 St. Thomas Academy 1  OT (tie)

St. Thomas Academy carried the play; and, after a scoreless first period, sophomore forward Zach Schroeder of the Cadets scored the only goal of the second period to give St. Thomas Academy a
1-0 edge.  In the third period, senior defenseman Zach Palmquist of South St. Paul tied the game,
1-1, with a power play tally at 6:05.  The Packers held on to the tie to send the game to overtime.  In overtime, St. Thomas Academy outshot the Packers 10-0; however, sophomore goalie Adam Wilcox of South St. Paul held firm and preserved the tie.

Warroad broke open a 1-0 game with five goals in the third period.  Senior Jason Goldsmith completed the shutout.
