Virginia/MountainIron-Buhl 3 Albert Lea 1 eng 10-4-0 8-3-0 Albert Lea carried the play in the first period; but, the teams traded goals late in the period. Virginia/Mountain Iron Buhl took over the action in the second period, aided by four Albert Lea penalties; however, neither team could score. In the third period, the game stayed 1-1 through most of the period until the Tigers picked up a penalty at 13:14. At 13:29, junior defenseman Jordan Krebsbach of the Blue Devils scored on the power play putting Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl in the lead. The Blue Devils held that edge until Albert Lea pulled their goalie in the final minute. Krebsbach found the empty net at 16:51. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl outshot Albert Lea 33-27.
