Less than a minute later, Duluth Marshall surged back on top on a goal from senior forward Pat Mahoney, at 1:11; however, just :30 later, freshman defenseman Brian LeBlanc of the Hawks tied the game at 3-3. Midway through the final period, junior defenseman Connor Hady of Hermantwon logged the go-ahead goal, at 8:24. The Hawks continued to carry the play and held on for the victory.
