The Bluejackets tied the game, 3-3, in the second period; and, after the Rams netted another goal, Hibbing/Chisholm deadlocked the score, 4-4, in the third period on the second goal from junior forward Ryan Johnson, at 6:43. At 11:25, sophomore forward Shane Omdahl of Roseau fired in a goal that gave the Rams a 5-4 edge; however, the Bluejackets retaliated one more time, with a late shorthanded tally from senior forward Ryan Hanegmon, at 15:32, to tie the score at 5-5. Roseau outshot the Bluejackets 9-4 in a scoreless overtime. Roseau outshot Hibbing/Chisholm 32-30. For Hibbing/Chisholm, Hanegmon had 2 goals 1 assist and Johnson had 2 goals.
