SOCIALIZED FOREST MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT (SIFMA)

One of the programs implemented by DENR Caraga to give incentive to qualified tree planters is the Socialized Forest management Agreement or SIFMA. Under this agreement entered into by and between a natural or a juridical person and the DENR, the latter grants the former the right to develop, utilize and manage a small tract of forestland consistent with the principle of sustainable development. In this agreement, individuals/single families are eligible to develop 1 - 10 hectares of forestland, while associations and cooperatives are allowed from 10 to 500 hectares of forestland.
