Caraga, is located in the northeastern part of Mindanao Island, Philippines. It is bounded on the North by the Bohol Sea and the Surigao Strait, on the South by the Province of Davao del Norte, on the East by the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean, and on the the West by the provinces of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental.

The Region covers four provinces and two cities. These include the cities of Butuan and Surigao and the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

There are seventy-one (71) municipalities and 1,309 barangays in the region.
