Outside Onyx Tower
You see it about an hour before you reach it.
The Onyx tower, stretching almost to the sky itself, looms forbiddingly
in the distance. No words have passed between any of your group
since the attack earlier today, and you are even less inclined to
make conversation when in the shadow of the Onyx. Everyone
seems to be of similar disposition. Every once in a while, you see
agents of the enemy out of the corner of your eye. They seem to
be keeping their distance though... as though they are allowing
you to move further toward the tower. You don't like how this feels.
It feels like you are being lead into a trap.
The sun is balancing on the horizon as you approach the circle of
dead vegetation surrounding the tower. It seems as formidable
as you've ever heard it described, and for a moment, you have to
fight a powerful urge to flee.
'We have a choice to make.' Darwin says, mutedly. His speech
startles you back to your present condition. 'I can either attempt
to teleport us into my brother's sanctum, or we can take the direct
approach and walk right in.'
As Darwin finishes his sentence, a cloaked figure, obviously belonging
to the Onyx, appears in the doorway, and approaches you slowly.
From your peripheral vision, you can see others appearing as well.
You feel a sickening sensation as you realize that you are surrounded.
Ask Darwin to teleport you
Give yourselves up
Attack them!
