Obern
Darwin runs to the foremost of the three men and picks him up by
the collar. 'What happened here! What have you done!'
The man, obviously caught off guard, stammers. The other two back
away from Darwin, not noting your presense at all. 'It's you! The
master warned us about you....' the captive man says.
'The master?' Darwin says sneeringly. 'He warned you correctly!
What have you done to this city?'
'We were just following our master's will!' the man cries pitifully.
'He decreed that the temple in this town would hamper The Cause,
and that it must be destroyed!'
Darwin throws the man to the ground violently. His two companions
bolt then, running away from the town as fast as they can. Darwin,
noticing your presense for the first time, turns to you. For the first
time, you feel afraid of the man as he says 'Go.' to you. His tone
remains neutral, but you can see the hatred in his eyes.
Taking his advice, you move into the city, searching for Shila. You're
far enough away so that you do not witness the death of the man
who caused the inferno that now surrounds you.
You are not far enough away, however, that you do not hear his death
cries.
Choking on the thickening smoke, you manage to find the Temple
