My Granfather, Hamilton Young. I don't know very much about him, personally, as he died the same year I was born.
Born-1884 England. (His oldest brother Thomas was born in December, 1874 at High Church, Glasgow so I presume his father, also Hamilton Young, had gone down to England for work as in the 1891 Census they were all back living at 8, Overburn Terr., Dumbarton.) Thomas was named for his Grandfather, Thomas Young. Elizabeth for her Grandmother, Elizabeth Quinn. There is no trace of the family in the 1881 Census!
Mother-Mary Young m/s Ponsonby
Married-4/6/1906 to Catherine McKenzie Parish Church Manse, Dumbarton.
Address at Marriage-8, Pointfauld Terr., Dumbarton. (Interestingly this address was also given for Catherine, his wife.)
Occupation-Boiler maker (appprentice when married but journeyman my the time my father was born in 1914)
Died-14/12/1952, Dumbarton Age 68. Buried in the same grave as his wife, Catherine, in Dumbarton Cemetary.
My Granmother, Catherine McKenzie.
Born-1883
Married-4/6/1906
Occupation-Factory worker.
Died-12/10/1951
Her Parents, Alexander McKenzie and Agnes McKenzie m/s Connell or Connelly were both deceased when she got married and her address on the marrage cert. is the same as her partners 8, Pointfauld Terr., Dumbarton.
Buried in Dumbarton Cemetary.
Wonder if she spoke Gaelic, as her father did?
My mothers' father, Andrew Edward Young.
Born-1879/80, if this date is correct he was not born in the UK as I've searched all of the birth records for him in Scotland 1875-1899 and England/Wales 1875-1890 so far. (Plenty of Andrew's especially in the Tyneside/Northumberland/Durham areas but no Andrew Edward's or Andrew's with the correct parents.)

He came to NZ in 1911 aged 5 years.
