| This is the airplane story I mention on the front page of the site, it�s me standing beside the airplane. A couple of years ago when I first starting flying, this was the first aircraft that I had ever flown. It was the first flight I logged in my fresh new log book. What a great day that was! I owe it all to Bob N2BD, he is a pilot as well, however bad health now forbids him from flying. I think he seen my interest in aviation and prodded me into taking my first flight and has been my key inspiration in aviation ever since. Thanks Bob! Getting on with my point, did any of you see the story on the news around October of 2002 about a small Cessna 152 crashing in a schools football field in Springfield, Ohio? If so, this is the airplane that went down due to an engine failure. Thank God it wasn�t me flying the plane at that time. As luck would have it the Pilot survived without life threatening injury. I do have to admit this incident made me reevaluate my interest in aviation for a short period of time. I didn�t let it stop me from going ahead and getting my Pilot licenses and continue to enjoy aviation. |
