Web ring instructions

If your application to join the Odd Worlds Web Ring has been accepted, you need to place the web ring navigation bar on your site, preferably on the main page, to link your site with the rest of the ring, and to promote cross traffic betwen the sites in the ring. You can do this one of two ways:

1. Use the my webring HTML fragment, which looks like this:

This Odd site owned by Denim.
[ Previous 5 Sites | Previous | Next | Next 5 Sites | Random Site | List Sites

Here is the html code for the fragment:

This (a href="http://www.geocities.com/dennsylvania/OddWorlds.html")(img src=yuck.gif border=0)(img src=oddlogo1.gif border=0 alt=Odd Worlds)(img src=oworld.gif border=0)(/a) site owned by (a href="mailto:Your e-mail address")Your name(/a). (br) [ (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;id=#;prev5")Previous 5 Sites(/a) | (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;id=#;prev")Previous(/a) | (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;id=#;next")Next(/a) | (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;id=#;next5")Next 5 Sites(/a) | (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;random")Random Site(/a) | (a href="http://nav.webring.org/cgi-bin/navcgi?ring=OddWorlds;list")List Sites(/a)

You can copy this code here with your mouse, and paste it into the html code of your site. The only things you have to change in the code are:

1.Replace every ( with a <, and replace every ) with a >. I had to substitute those in so the code would show up on the screen, rather than what it represents.
2.Where ever it says "your name", put your name.
3.Where ever it says "your e-mail address", put the e-mail address that you want visitors to your page to use for feedback.
Pretty self explanitory.....

Here are the images you need for the web ring logo:

yuck.gif , oddlogo1.gif , and oworld.gif

You can either link them from here, or you can save them by right clicking them with your mouse, and then upload them to your site.

What colors you use for the text and links of the html code is up to you....

2. If you prefer, you can use the prefab Yahoo webring navigation bar for our webring, which you can acquire the HTML code for at Webring.org on the page where you manage your site information. Just click on "Get Navigation Bar".

I prefer the first option, because it has the whole logo, and isn't as plain looking as the Yahoo navigation bar, but the Yahoo bar would be easier to install on your site if you aren't very familiar with HTML code. Reguardless of which navigation bar you choose, you must use HTML code, or it will not be customised for your particular site. The examples on this page are customised for this site. If you have any questions, you may contact the ringmaster Denim
