My old secondary school, Willem Lodewijk Gymnasium (grammar school), organized activities to raise funds for the rebuilding of the primary school in Tokokoe. There were futsal matches between teachers and students, I sold poetry books during the Christmass celebration and I also taught the students about Ghana. I appeared in cloth, we looked at pictures and video and talked about slavery. After the lesson the students had to do a small test to see how much they knew about Ghana. Ten questions, one point for every good answer. A perfect score would therefore be a 10. After the test I handed out betting forms. They were asked to ask parents, friends, neighbours and relatives to make the same test, to see what they knew about Ghana. It's like a bet: I bet I know more about Ghana then you. Let's put some money on it; only the parents, friends, neighbours and other relatives of course. If the student has a higher score, than a pay out will follow. The money is for Tokokoe. Very soon I'll hear the outcome of the action!
