So far this year, we’ve learned how living things are organized from the lowest level up. We began by studying atoms and seeing how they combine to form molecules. We also identified the four types of organic macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids), of which all living things are made. Next, we discovered how these macromolecules can combine to form organelles, the structures found inside cells. Now, we will learn what happens when the cells in your body work together to form complex tissues, organs, and organ systems. The combination and coordination of these organ systems leads us to....
