We need real music. I like artists who write,compose,produce their own music,and most of the stuff on MTV gets on my nerves..particulary the boybands and PYTs who have voices like a 12 yo beaten up with a broomstick..not to mention the prancing about on stage like wounded chickens!
Most people are brainless sheep when it comes to music and MTV strengthens this problem. The core MTV audience whould have the attention span of a mentally ill,hyperactive monkey,which is why they need the smooth videos and PYTs with costumes that a hooker wouldn't be caught dead in! ..most people are too stupid to realize,that the main reason they like them is their looks.It's not about the music anymore...MTV is an Ad agency marketing trash,and they have millions of teenagers around the globe to buy it.I'm not sure what the particular point of this rant is, but all I'm saying is that there is a TON of great music in this world that isn't on MTV...Meanwhile VH1 is better..but hope they don't go mainstream,since both are owned by the same people.

Lisiting my fav artists would fill up this page,but a few will always be in the list...VanHalen, Jimi Hendrix,Dire Straits, Led Zepplin,Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Sting/Police,U2 ,Clapton, CCR,Vai, Satriani, Classical-Bach, Beethoven,Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Chopin..
....Now compare these to the "teenyartists/boy/girlbands" who are on the charts these days...they have their songs written for them,dances choreographed by other talented but not so good looking people, marketed and produced by record companies who are desperate to stay alive in an age where the life span of an artist is 3 weeks!..and all they have to worry about is looking pretty for the camera!!
